The new Maurice Lacroix Aikon Master Grand Date watch blends the lines between the Masterpiece field with the iconic sportiness of the Aikon collection. Recognised for the arms on the bezel and the integrated bracelet, the spirit of the Aikon watch is relived through a more technical-looking timepiece – one that provides a glimpse into its beating heart. A large skeleton opening reveals the movement’s balance wheel alongside a large date display located at 10 o’clock with a double window.
The dark blue version of the Maurice Lacroix Aikon Master Grand Date watch was a successful model released last year that has made way for this new sleek black iteration with striking white elements. It continues to uphold the notable style of Maurice Lacroix’s beautifully crafted wristwatches, innovated in the picturesque Swiss town of Saignelégier, but with a twist. The new black model looks incredibly modern and harnesses the technical beauty of the Masterpiece collection, with a glimpse being offered of the ML331 calibre, sitting at its heart. The earlier blue model featured an off-centre Clous de Paris dial for the hours and minutes, along with a grained dial plate and a deep blue Cordura strap to match its unique blue dial. Interestingly, the double date window took on the shape of the arms seen on the bezel.
Following the faithful design of this 2021 model, the new Maurice Lacroix Aikon Master Grand Date watch in black reveals the same regulating system, floating effortlessly between the front and back of the case through panes of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass. An open-worked brushed and snailed rotor obscures its background, whilst the 4 o’clock location where the small second sub-dial is located is also open-worked.
The Calibre ML331, sitting behind the dial of this new Maurice Lacroix Aikon Master Grand Date watch takes on a whole new identity. Based on Maurice Lacroix’s self-winding manufacture movement, it features a sun-brushed black DLC balance bridge, comprises 43 jewels and provides a 50-hour power reserve.

Its white luminous-coated hands and stick markers are highly visible through the watch’s anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass front, pairing well with the double date aperture at 10 o’clock. With its conventional lugs and sporty integrated strap, the new Maurice Lacroix Aikon Master Grand Date watch measures a broad 45mm diameter and is crafted with stainless steel with a stealthy black PVD coating. The case is also 100-meter water-resistant and boasts a polished black DLC-coated bezel with prominent arms fixed to its surface.
Maurice Lacroix has chosen to fit the new Aikon Master Grand Date watch on a newly designed black rubber strap with the Maurice Lacroix lettering in relief upon its surface. Additionally, the watch is also supplied with a black synthetic leather strap adorned with a textile pattern. The band features the new “M” logo developed by the Swiss brand and secures to the wrist with a matching black DLC-coated fastening. Integrated with the Easy Strap Change system, these bands can be alternated with other strap options from the company’s catalogue.
