Although a difficult task, we have chosen nine favourites that have made an impact on the watchmaking industry and will surely be fastened to many wrists during 2018!

Eterna Watch KonTiki Bronze Limited Edition
Limited to 300 pieces, the Eterna KonTiki was certainly a memorable release of 2017. Marking the 70th anniversary of when Thor Heyerdahl – a Norwegian adventurer – sailed the Pacific Ocean from South America to the Tuamotu Islands aboard Kon-Tiki – a hand made raft. The beautiful bronze case is a triumph of 2017.

Graham Watch Chronofighter Vintage Nose Art Lilly Limited Edition
The playful pin up girls of the 1940s made an appearance at Baselworld 2017. Perched on the dial, Lilly reflects a time where such images where painted onto WWII planes to provide morale to the pilots during the war. The cheeky, fun design certainly made an impact during 2017.

TAG Heuer Watch Connected Modular 45 Kingsman Special Edition Smartwatch
Who can forget TAG’s Connected Modular 45 makeover into a Kingsman agent? The release of the movie Kingsman: The Golden Circle saw the smartwatch undertake a starring role in the film. Complete with a tangerine orange strap and the Kingsman logo the collaboration was a highlight of 2017.

Oris Watch Aquis Staghorn Restoration Limited Edition
Oris’ dedication to conservation has definitely impressed this year with their attitude to endangered species and careless behavior. In particular, this design raises awareness of tourism, over-fishing and bleaching that has left over one quarter of Staghorn coral beyond repair. Through sales of this stunning timepiece Oris will donate a percentage to the organisations that work hard to preserve the coral.
