Arnold & Son has released a sleek black version of the 38 and 41.5 Nebula Steel watches, complete with a captivating sunburst effect created by the movement’s satin-finished bridges
To much acclaim, the Nebula watch was first released by Arnold & Son in 2016, laying bare its mechanical soul through the surface of its dial. It offered a strikingly symmetrical layout, with key elements of the movement appearing as if they were bursting out from the heart of the watch. After the initial Nebula concept, the watch was downsized to a compact 38mm but grew once more to a 41.5mm diameter. It came in a striking blue and steel outfit that followed in the footsteps of the Constant Force Tourbillion, with a simple time-only design that somehow managed to convey a very complex aesthetic. This illusion was all part of the watch’s architecture, with mechanical elements that radiated from the very centre of the display.
Thanks to its new sportier feel, the Arnold & Son Nebula 41.5 Steel watch is incredibly versatile, promising to sit closely on the wrist with a set of brushed plaquette lugs that have been ergonomically formed for enhanced comfort on the wrist. Its sportier spirit enables it to be worn alongside casual attire as well as something smarter in the evening. The case of the new Nebula watch sits at a mere height of 8.73mm and features an almost absent bezel that gives way to a generous view of the watch’s beating heart. Using this same structure, the latest 41.5mm Steel Nebula watch to emerge from the collection has a black flange and has been released alongside a smaller 38mm model. Whether you have a small-sized wrist or you’re looking for a perfect “his and hers” duo, the Nebula has plenty of technical appeal for those who like their watch ordered with a side of “uniqueness”.

The new 41.5 Nebula Steel and 38 Nebula Steel feature the same dial in relief. A bursting star around the edge of the display reveals the openworked, chamfered and satin-finished bridges of the movement, complete with shimmering jewels. Its unique structure reflects the heritage of John Arnold’s earliest chronometers. The bridges are all perfectly arranged around the dial and are identical in shape yet measure different sizes. Although arranged at regular intervals, each space in between reveals a little something different from the underlying beating heart that sits within a robust steel framework, integrated with a water resistance of 30 meters. These exquisite finishes belong to the Calibre A&S5201. The watch also features a black PVD flange where the Arnold & Son name can be admired.
The beautifully crafted A&S5201 engine performs at a rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour and produces a power reserve of 90 hours once fully wound. Needless to say, if you wish to take the watch off over the course of a weekend and alternate it with another favourite timepiece, you can come back to the watch on a Monday morning to find it has kept perfect time without relying on the movement of your wrist for power.
The new Arnold & Son Nebula 41.5 watch comes on a choice of two different strap options. You can either opt for the stylish black alligator leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching and a stainless steel buckle, or a black “ballistic” rubber strap. The Nebula 38 Steel watch, however, is offered on the black hand-stitched alligator leather strap alone, giving the timepiece a very classic style.
