Just Landed: The Bell & Ross BR 03 92 Diver White
Wednesday - 16 March 2022
The Bell & Ross BR 03 92 Diver White watch follows the same design principles of the BR 03 92 Diver design and comes with a strikingly legible white dial, a trusty 300-meter water resistance, and a reliable automatic movement.
Why is the Bell & Ross BR 03 92 Diver watch so special?
For some, nature is a truly fascinating thing and its pull is something we find hard to resist. Those who love exploring the underwater universe will understand the desire to submerse themselves in every inch of it possible, and to do that, a watch like the Bell & Ross BR 03 92 diver watch is required. The great thing about the BR 03 design is that it’s so versatile. Robust and durable – yes, but also perfectly capable of accompanying the wrist daily, whether at a social event or in the office. It’s no wonder many dive watch fans have turned to the BR 03 92 Diver watch for their companion. Right from the start, the watch manufacturer has been a leader in the field of dive watches, but it would be 2017 before a team of Bell & Ross watch designers and ocean experts would come up with the square-shaped case and circular bezel design.
One other key selling feature of the Bell & Ross BR 03 92 Diver watch is its ISO 6435 certification. But what does this mean for a dive watch, you ask? Well, it means that the diving tool has been tested for its reliability, accuracy and durability. The International Organization for standardization began in 1946 and covers a plethora of categories of standards and best practices – one of them being dive watches. To regulate an ISO-certified watch, it needs to be subject to a systematic series of quality tests – all of which a Bell & Ross dive watch endures. This includes a condensation test carried out in normal conditions, followed by a test taken under a foot of room temperature water for over two days, then by a test that sees the watch subject to a heated plate. Once the watch is brought up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, a drop of water is placed on top of the crystal for a minute. If bubbles appear, the watch is not thoroughly water-resistant. Other ISO tests include dropping the watch from a one-meter height for its shock resistance test and subjecting the watch to magnetic fields measuring up to 4,800 amperes.
The new Bell & Ross BR 03 93 Diver White watch
The new Bell & Ross BR 03 92 Diver White watch certainly boasts a clean and crisp aesthetic once paired with the contemporary accents of its black rubber strap and black unidirectional rotating bezel. What can be instantly appreciated about the design of the dive watch is its modest simplicity. The 42mm model is engineered from stainless steel with satin-finished and polished effects. Its black unidirectional rotating bezel rotates only in the counter-clockwise direction to ensure that elapsed time underwater cannot be accidentally extended. Its 60-minute markers, dressed in white, are set against a black anodised aluminium insert. At 3 o’clock on the case, a screw-down crown can be found, protected by a crown guard to help assist with the model’s 300-meter water resistance.
The top of the Bell & Ross BR 03 92 Diver White watch is secured with a transparent front crafted from anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass. This incredibly strong material with a hardness that comes second only to a diamond, grants a view into the dial, free from any undesirable glare. The circular and pill-shaped hour markers around the hour track have been treated with Super-LumiNova, as have the central hour and minute hands. Surrounding the edge of the dial is a black detailed minute track with larger dashes for the five-minute increments. The Bell & Ross logo resides at the normal location of 12 o’clock, whilst a discreet date window is located at the 4:30 position.
Embodying all the classic traits of the much-loved BR 03 92 Diver range, the new Bell & Ross BR 03 92 Diver White is suitable for wearing every day of the week and comes fitted on a black rubber strap embossed with the brand logo. The quick-drying qualities of the back rubber band make it ideal for dipping in and out of the sea, whilst the strong sapphire glass front protects the surface of the dial from sand, light damage, and saltwater damage. A black woven strap is also supplied with the watch for a more casual finish on the wrist. Both bands secure with a stainless steel pin buckle from Bell & Ross, engraved with the logo as a symbol of authenticity and craftsmanship.
Inside the steel case of the new Bell & Ross BR 03 92 Diver White watch is the Calibre BR Cal.302 – a movement that has been affluently used throughout the brand’s catalogue. Based on a Sellita movement, the engine performs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a 38-hour power reserve. The movement, with 25 jewels, offers hours, minutes, seconds and a date function.
