The Highlife watch has become a flagship design. The collection is home to timepieces that reflect a modern take on the brand’s watches released back in 1999. The Highlife design back then was characterised by its distinctive case and integrated bracelet. Modifications back in 2020 introduced a more contemporary design with a barrel-shaped case, a round bezel and half-moon facets located near the strap. In 2021 Frederique Constant equipped its Worldtimer version with the in-house Calibre FC-718, combining it with a unique dial characterised by the imaginary latitude and longitude lines that run across the globe. An integrated H-shaped bracelet promised comfort on the wrist, whilst elongated hour markers and baton-style hands delivered clarity across a restrained and uncomplicated display.

As one of the most elegant travel watch designs - the Worldtimer differs from dual time watches and GMT watches with its local time displayed via the central hour and minute hands and an additional 24-hour ring. No collection is more fitting of this complication than the Highlife, since its globe-inspired dial has been a popular feature of this collection since launching two years ago.

The new Frederique Constant Highlife Worldtimer Blackout watch is clad in a super sleek black case, just as its namesake suggests. Its stainless steel case is developed from a three-part construction and measures a diameter of 42mm and a depth of 12.10mm. The surface of the Worldtimer’s case is finished in a black PVD titanium coating with a contemporary sandblasted finish to give the watch a modern matte look. A convex sapphire crystal glass front protects the surface of the dial and helps the case uphold a 50-meter water resistance. The surface of the glass is both scratch resistant and treated with anti-reflective properties to assist with a clear view of the dial whether during the day or night. The caseback of the new Highlife Worldtimer Blackout watch is threaded and engraved with the model’s unique limited edition number and features a pane of sapphire crystal glass for admiring the performance of the movement within.
The new Frederique Constant Highlife Worldtimer watch for 2022 now features a sleek black dial with a sunray finish, pierced by white luminous detailing on a set of silver-coloured circular hour markers. The black hand-polished central hour and minute hands have also received the same white luminous material, accompanied by a polished black central second hand. The dial also features a globe-embossed surface, as well as a 24-hour scale identified by daytime and nighttime hours in white and black respectively. A black city disc joins this with 24 airport codes to track the time at your departure location or your landing destination. At 6 o’clock, you can find a sunray guilloche finished date ring with a polished black hand.
Inside the robust black-coated stainless steel case of the new Frederique Constant Highlife Worldtimer Blackout limited edition watch is the trusty FC-718 movement used in previous Worldtimer watches. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and boasts perlage and circular cotes de Geneve decoration applied to its components. These can be admired through the back of the case via a sapphire exhibition lens. The movement provides a 38-hour power reserve and its functions can all be adjusted via one crown. To complete its sophisticated travel-friendly design, the new Frederique Constant Worldtimer watch is fitted on a comfortable black alligator leather strap with a matching black-coated steel fastening.
