Sitting at a width of 41.2mm in diameter and a height of 12mm, the new Seiko Astron GPS Solar Limited Edition watch for 2023 has a water-resistant rating of 100 meters and secures with a tapered bracelet that features a three-fold clasp and a push button release mechanism, making it easy to dress on and off the wrist. The watch also offers a low centre of gravity, making it an ideal option for wearing during sports and outdoor activities. The surface of the case has received the Japanese brand’s unique Super Hard Coating making it even less likely to succumb to scratches and wear-and-tear marks. The interesting feature of the model is its name, taken after the design’s ‘crystal box’ pressed dial pattern. This pattern and its name are inspired by the legacy of the original Seiko Astron with its quartz-powered heart. This milestone in Seiko’s history stood for the first quartz-powered wristwatch ever launched. The watch was equipped with a box-shaped crystal glass front. The raised glass with its scratch-resistant properties promised impressive clarity for its time.
