Introducing the NOMOS Club Campus Deep Pink & Blue Purple

If it’s one thing Club Campus watches have always been distinctly popular for, it’s their timeless aesthetics, clear legible dials, and spacious casebacks that create the perfect medium for a special personalised engraving. It is a watch for all occasions - all milestones in life – all cherishable moments. The two new Nomos Club Campus watches for 2022 feature California dials that are enriched with a bold hue, providing precise timekeeping via an in-house movement that reaffirms the Glashutte company’s strong heritage and profound watchmaking mastery.
At the Watches and Wonders 2022 event, Nomos unveiled two eye-catching dial colours belonging to its popular Club Campus watch collection. The range is normally associated with its selection of charming timepieces that unite legible features with an understated and pared-back charm, except for when it releases its colourful dial versions, that is. Just last year, we saw Nomos launch the successful Future Orange Club Campus watch and the Absolute Gray Club Campus watch, both of which were offered in a 36mm size and a slightly larger 38.5mm diameter.
A style and colour typical of youth
Now, the fourth generation of the Nomos Club Campus has arrived in a Deep Pink and Blue Purple colour, released in the same 36mm and 38.5mm options. Marking the start of Spring, these timepieces make for an irresistible self-indulgent treat for any growing luxury watch collection, or indeed, a gift to mark a special loved one reaching one of life’s important milestones – a wedding, new job, or graduation perhaps? Despite their bold shades, the two new Nomos Club Campus Deep Pink and Blue Purple watches for 2022 pair well with plenty of different attire options. They are both vibrant and daring, yet simple in design, allowing them to pop on the wrist dressed and complimenting a smart suit or shirt. The pink-coloured Nomos Club Campus compliments black, grey, white or dark blue, for example, whilst the Blue Purple Club Campus watch compliments cream, beige, light grey, black and orange shades.
Some more obvious differences between the two dial colours are seen in each five-minute marking around the minute track. The Blue Purple Club Campus watch features zesty orange markings that outline each five-minute increment, coordinating with the small second sub-dial hand. The Deep Pink model shares the latter orange-coloured small second hand at 6 o’clock, but its minute track is executed in a simple white colour to match both models’ clean and crisp hour track represented in a mix of numerals in the familiar Club Campus way – Arabic numerals to mark the northern hemisphere of the dial – Roman numerals to mark the southern.
A little about the exclusive Nomos Alpha movement
Both the Deep Pink and Blue Purple iterations of these Nomos Club Campus 2022 watches are crafted from polished stainless steel and have been integrated with 100-meter water resistance. Each is also powered by a completely in-house manufactured Alpha movement. The movement is a highly acclaimed classic that has reigned throughout the entire Nomos catalogue ever since it was designed. More specifically, it has powered the Tangente, the Orion, the Tetra and the Ludwig. It also marks the very first Nomos movement made by the German manufacturer and powers more of Nomos’ watches than any other.
The Nomos Alpha movement features a stop second mechanism along with a three-quarter plate and is adjusted in six positions. Traditional Glashutte decoration is administered by the steady hands of talented craftsmen and artisans sat at the workbenches of the company’s Glashutte-based facilities. This decoration includes blued tempered screws, Glashutte ribbing and perlage. Glashutte sunburst effect has also been applied to the ratchet and crown wheel. The in-house manual-winding Alpha movement can provide a running time of 43 hours once fully wound, enabling it to keep accurate time whilst off the wrist.
The Nomos Club Campus Deep Pink watches are fitted on a light grey velour leather strap, securing with a polished steel pin buckle, whilst the Blue Purple models are accompanied by an anthracite strap in the same material. Bother options provide optimal comfort on the wrist, with shades specifically chosen to set off the colour of both respective dials.
