Wednesday - 07 June 2023
Available in a stainless steel or black and bronze variation, the new Elliot Brown Beachmaster Professional watch is equipped with unique mission timing features and is exclusive to just 500 pieces each.
The designing of the Beachmaster Professional was such a pinnacle point for Elliot Brown as it uncovered the realisation that its innovative design was a world first. Imagine you’re leading up to an important event. You want to count the minutes or hours to that event but also want to rendezvous some hours after the event? At the same time, you also need to track two time zones and count down to a separate event simultaneously using the external bezel. The Beachmaster Professional from Elliot Brown lets you do this with its patented design, which launched after the pandemic and is still going strong.
Designing the Elliot Brown Beachmaster Professional watch
Designing the Beachmaster Professional was no easy thing. Like all well-thought-through things, it took time and a lot of consideration, not to mention plenty of research to confirm that the experts capable of designing this tool were, in fact, the only ones to do so in the industry! After 4 years, the design team at Elliot Brown still consider the Beachmaster Professional watch a work in progress. Things like the case details, the bezel design, the undercuts and chamfers, and the hand finishes are all still being tweaked and honed, and that’s a great thing because it leads to a continually evolving line of wristwatches that enthusiasts can collect and build upon as time goes on.
From its original designs and pencil sketches, experts at Elliot Brown know this tool watch had huge potential scope. Once patents were cleared and the brand could claim a unique product, it was the start of a very big success story and one that is still writing itself today. Its unique design can count down to the start of an event and then count up to show the elapsed time or target a rendezvous without the need for sub-dials. At the same time, the Beachmaster Professional has complete Elliot Brown DNA and the brand’s design language in abundance.
What’s more, the crown of the Elliot Brown Beachmaster Professional watch has spring-loaded ceramic ball bearings that click with precision under the fingertips, ensuring they safely lock the inner timing bezel into place. You can only really appreciate this feature when having a go yourself. So, if you’re thinking of purchasing the latest Beachmaster Professional watch, here are all the details you’re going to want to read up on…
The new Elliot Brown Beachmaster Professional watch
The new Beachmaster Professional watch from Elliot Brown boasts the same patented multi-time zone, mission timer design and is limited to just 500 pieces worldwide. It was originally designed after a request was made from a Royal Marines event and aptly named the Beachmaster due to its link to the D-Day landings. Amazingly, its split-scale inner bezel can be set in nine hours in advance of the GMT hand. The GMT hand will count around the H scale for the mission start feature and then automatically begin its journey around the second half of the split inner bezel. The watch also has a 60-minute scale on the ceramic diver’s bezel that can be used for measuring elapsed time underwater and the watch is powered by the automatic Sellita SW330-2 with a useful 56-hour power reserve to offer once fully wound. Its robust design has a 300-meter water-resistant rating and measures a 40mm diameter crafted from either brushed and polished stainless steel or bronze.
Fine metallic borders separate the scales of the dial’s matte wave ‘amphibious assault’ graphic display with 3D applied indexes that stand out with confidence. The hour markers in Arabic numerals and sticks, as well as the hands, have all been treated with rich blue glowing Super-LumiNova material to assist with timekeeping even in the darkest situations. With an oversized seal, the caseback of the new Beachmaster Professional is securely bolted down, tensioning the movement shock protection system as it does so and sealing like a compressor caseback. Upon the dial, the word “Beachmaster” is deeply stamped and polished above the wave NATO amphibious assault symbol, whilst an octagonal frame represents the ‘spatial placement symbol’ from the NATO APP-6(C) Joint Military Symbology manual.
To complete its stealthy and powerful design, the new Elliot Brown Beachmaster Professional watch is fitted on a brushed and polished stainless steel or bronze bracelet with a ratchet divers extension that secures firmly to the wrist. Both watches also come with an additional black rubber band with a deployant buckle.
