Hamilton PSR Digital Quartz Limited Edition Watch Unveiled!

The original digital wristwatch is back! The Hamilton PSR Digital Quartz Limited Edition will leave lovers of retro speechless as it commemorates the legendary 1970’s Hamilton Pulsar watch. Two designs, available in stainless steel and limited edition yellow gold PVD, have been released to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Pulsar Time Computer, the first commercially sold digital watch which famously interrupted the entire industry with its futuristic technology.

The Hamilton Pulsar was first unveiled in 1970 and fully released in 1972. Its name not only evoked the mystery of the space age, but it refers to a type of rotating star that produces energy at very precise intervals. It was the remarkable precision and the sci-fi LED display that tempted celebrities like Jack Nicholson, Joe Frazier, Elton John and Keith Richards to all sport the piece while Roger Moore even wore it as James Bond in Live and Let Die.

The two new Hamilton PSR Digital Quartz watches bring their predecessor back to life with an unmistakable style that every modern-day watch connoisseur needs in their collection. While the same overall aesthetics are still there, Hamilton have been some much-needed improvements to the new editions to ensure reliability and durability are leading. The digital display on the original Pulsar watch was LED and was turned on by pressing the button on the right hand side of the case. The new Hamilton PSR Steel and Hamilton PSR Gold boast a new hybrid LCD and OLED panel that displays the time constantly and the button is used to light up the brighter OLED panel for even better liability.

The case of the new Hamilton PSR Digital Quartz watch has also been improved with the addition of enhanced scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass protecting the display coated with anti-reflective treatment for optimal readability. The case still measures to 40.8mm by 34.7mm in size but has now been made water resistant to 100 metres and is available in fine brushed and polished stainless steel or a limited edition of 1,970 pieces crafted from stunning yellow gold PVD.
