Hamilton Launches NEW Hamilton Khaki Field Converter Watch

Presented in a deep blue dial colour and available on a brown cow leather band or stainless steel bracelet, the new Hamilton Khaki Field Converter watch for 2023 is equipped with a bidirectional rotating slide rule bezel for complex airborne calculations. The ideal tool for pilots or devoted fans of the popular Khaki Field watch collection.

If you know Hamilton, you’ll know that its bestselling line is the Khaki Field. Inspired by military watches from the 1930s and 1940s, these robust and functional tool watches are easy to read and have become many watch collectors’ top choice. Although the Khaki Field watch range by Hamilton is quite varied and diverse, each model promises easy readability thanks to large identifiable Arabic numerals and luminous-treated details, along with a legible 24-hour track on a second inner ring. Watches from the Hamilton Khaki Field range also feature sword-shaped hands and come in various designs from the simple three-handed kind to the sportier chronographs, practical GMT complications and the Khaki Converter, which we’re going to look at in a little more detail today, namely the new release for 2023. It features a deep blue dial and a choice between a tan-brown leather strap and a robust stainless steel link bracelet.

As far as aviation-oriented watches with a slide rule bezel go, the only luxury watch manufacturers renowned for mastering this complex feature that spring to mind are Breitling with its popular Navitimer watch and the Citizen Nighthawk. Both models represent a completely different price bracket, but for those looking to bridge that gap, the Hamilton Khaki Converter should be the number one choice, and here’s why.

How the Hamilton Khaki Converter watch works

You might be wondering what you can do with the Hamilton Khaki Converter watch? Well, you can do several things with this watch. You can calculate airspeed, fuel consumption, and convert miles to kilometres. Within this sub-series, there is a variety of straps and bracelets to choose from, as well as dial designs. The latest is the 2023 model – the Hamilton Khaki Field Converter H76746540 and the H76746140. The first of the two is the model fitted on a brown leather band, whilst the latter is accompanied by a stainless steel bracelet. Both models are equipped with all the technology and materials for navigating the skies, including a robust steel case measuring a confident 44mm diameter and a legible dial with the aviation bezel. The bi-directionally rotating slide rule bezel calculates critical conversions and metrics at a quick glance of the dial and is finished in the same deep blue colour as the dial itself. Accents of red can be seen around the bezel, as well as in the central chronograph hand on the main display.

The nickel hour and minute hands on the dial of the new Hamilton Khaki Field Converter watch are coated with a generous layer of Super-LumiNova to assist with timekeeping in the night or the dark conditions of the cockpit. These are joined by nickel-coated central hands and three sub-counters for the chronograph 30-minute feature at 3 o’clock, the 12-hour totaliser at 6 o’clock, and a small seconds dial at 9 o’clock. To the right side of the watch, the day and date feature can be seen, alongside the Hamilton name and logo. All details on the surface of the display are protected by a piece of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass that has been treated with anti-reflective properties for a glare-free view into the dial.

Inside the new Hamilton Khaki Field Converter is the Calibre H-21 SI. Its state-of-the-art balance spring is chosen for its resistance to extreme atmospheric conditions. It also promises an impressive power reserve of 60 hours. The new blue dial option for the Khaki Field Converter features a sapphire-backed case and is integrated with 100-meter water resistance. A screw-down crown also assists with this water-resistant environment. Choose between a tan brown leather strap with a stainless steel H buckle engraved with the company logo or a classic-link stainless steel bracelet that secures with a folding clasp.
