The first Highlife watch from Frederique Constant was launched in 1999 and featured a newly integrated bracelet design that look sharp and sporty. Once considered the brand’s flagship watch, the Highlife seemed to fade into the background for a while. That was until Frederique Constant re-angled its focus and shone a light on the series once again. A new generation was unveiled back in 2020, where newly integrated case designs met refined dials that were dramatically etched, and hands that were powered by in-house developed movements with chronometer certification. The entrancing open heart feature
The Frederique Constant Highlife Heart Beat watch is loved for many reasons. It features a pointed paddle handset, an engraved dial featuring a globe motif, and has been made available in a rose-gold plated finish for those with a preference for ultra-luxurious designs. As one would expect, the Heart Beat reference in its name points to the open heart feature at the top of the dial, where the wearer is granted a glimpse into the beating organ that lies inside the case. This year, Frederique Constant has pleased fans of the Highlife collection by announcing a new addition to the Highlife Heart Beat series. It revisits this popular design, revealing the inner workings of the watch through the dial side of the model in what one can only be described as an unfalteringly elegant design. The new Ladies Automatic Heart Beat watch from Frederique Constant’s Highlife collection still brings a simple and modernist design to the table but is lifted by the use of exquisite diamonds placed upon the dial around the hour track. The watch is as unique as ever, with the open heart section at 12 o’clock bearing a clear view into the beautiful workings of the automatic movement as it performs inside a stainless steel case plated in rose gold. The design of the Highlife Heart Beat watch captures the legacy of the Manufacture with a perfectly rounded and polished rose gold-plated bezel that gives way to a white dial etched with the familiar globe pattern. Creating the silver colour of the dial is a beautiful mother of pearl finishing that elevates the rose gold-plated settings for each of the stones around the hour track. Here, all hour markers apart from the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock locations catch the light magnificently as they put on a captivating performance of fire and brilliance. These diamonds are nestled securely around the hour track, accompanying stick markers for the other locations that have been treated with Super-LumiNova. The central hour and minute hands, shaped like swords towards the end have also been treated with this same luminous material, enabling them to provide legible timekeeping at night.
The globe-adorned, diamond-set dial of the new Frederique Constant Highlife Ladies Heart Beat watch is protected by a strong piece of anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass that seals onto the top of the 50-meter water-resistant case. The same material is used on the back of the watch, offering an exhibition feature and an opportunity for the wearer to observe the working movement in more detail. The movement in question here is the automatic Calibre FC-310, based on the Sellita SW200 movement. It performs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations and provides a power reserve of 38 hours once fully wound.

The stainless steel links, plated in rose gold wrap luxuriously around the wrist, securing with a folding clasp and a push button release mechanism.
