DOXA Reveals a Whitepearl Watch to its SUB 300 Series

Following the success of last year’s SUB 200 Whitepearl watch, DOXA unveils the new SUB 300 Whitepearl watch with an urban, sporty, racy aesthetic
When the name DOXA gets mentioned in conversation, our minds are automatically cast back to the beefy cushion-shaped profile of the SUB 300. The famous watch brand has carved out a niche position for itself within the dive watch pantheon and became recognized as a serious contender in the realm of underwater timekeeping instruments when the DOXA SUB 300 watch was seen on the wrists of Pulp Fiction movie star Dirk Pitt and, of course, ocean conservationist, Jacques Cousteau.
Ever since then, DOXA has had to juggle the fine balance between creating innovative dive watches that still feel interesting and forward-moving, yet ensuring its future watches don’t stray too far away from what is most loved about this affordable dive tool. Back in 2020, DOXA relaunched the SUB 300 line. There were a host of upgrades to appreciate within this revamped model, including a chronometer rated movement, a coloured rubber strap and a revised case design.
The flat polished case sides of the DOXA 300 watch became slimmer, creating a less blocky feel on the wrist. The watch also featured an orange DOXA fish-stamped crown and a boxed sapphire crystal glass front. Considering the watch was only available as a limited edition version since 2015 and was only offered in the successful orange dial colour, DOXA then made a huge leap forward with a selection of vibrant and eye-catching dial colours with the 2022 release of SUB 300 watches, not to mention a stylish range of rubber straps to compliment them. Now the DOXA SUB 300 watch has received another update. For the first time ever, the watch is available in Whitepearl. Following suit are other models like the SUB 300T, SUB 600T and SUB 300 Carbon – all released in time for the Watches and Wonders 2022 event in Geneva.
As seen before, the 42.5mm DOXA SUB 300 Whitepearl watch is available in a stainless steel case, integrated with 300-meter water resistance. The two new references comprise the 821.10.011.10 model with a white dial and a stainless-steel bracelet, and the 821.10.011.23 model with a white dial and a white FKM rubber strap, securing with a stainless steel fastening. The watch is crafted from 316L stainless steel – a material chosen for its toughness in underwater conditions and its resistance to saltwater. The case is fitted with a threaded caseback that conceals the automatic Sellita SW200-1 movement, capable of producing a useful 38-hour power reserve. The movement is also certified to COSCA standards and performs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
The new white dial of the DOXA SUB 300 watch gives this dive watch a fresh new look. Sporty and dynamic, the elements on the dial have been carefully arranged so as to pop against their white background. The dial’s painted indices have been treated with white Super-LumiNova, as have the black hands. A painted outer minute track also stands out in contrast. A stainless steel unidirectional rotating bezel assists with the effortless measuring of elapsed time underwater, featuring the depth in meters on the outer scale and the dive time in minutes in white on the inner scale.
One of the main characteristics of a DOXA dive watch is its instantly recognisable “beads of rice” bracelet crafted from stainless steel. The DOXA SUB 300 Whitepearl ref. 821.10.011.10 comes fitted on this signature bracelet, securing with a folding clasp engraved with the exclusive ‘DOXA fish’ symbol and an adjustable wetsuit extension for pairing with diving gear. Alternatively, the DOXA SUB 300 Whitepearl ref. 821.10.011.23 comes fitted on a white FKM rubber strap, with the same adjustable wetsuit extension and engraved folding clasp.
