Bremont Launches S502 Jet and Supermarine Chrono Jet Watches

Extensively tested beyond measure and ready to face some of the most extreme and challenging nighttime missions - the new, powerful-looking Bremont S502 Jet and Supermarine Chrono Jet watches are a Special Forces Operator’s best friend.

Bremont Ambassador and ex-Special Forces Operator, Jason Fox has been wearing Bremont watches for years, but in particular, he found them indispensable whilst conducting nighttime operations whilst part of the Special Forces. The darkness, tough terrain and challenging weather conditions were just some of the risks he would encounter. And, if anyone understands what it takes to endure underwater missions that test a diver to his limits, it’s Former Royal Marines Commando, Aldo Kane, who is expertly skilled in venturing into some of the most extreme, remote and hostile locations of the world, equipped with a watch for assisting with essential tasks. Recently he undertook a mission to collect ice samples for a scientific mission in the Arctic Circle, located just 450 miles from the North Pole. For professional divers like him, the light from his watch is sometimes the only light source he has access to at all. Two new timekeeping tools to assist with land and water-based missions of the future are the Bremont S502 Jet and the Bremont Supermarine Chrono Jet. Inspired by high-risk military night operations, these two new Bremont watches are allies in the dark. Both tactical timepieces are robust and come in an anti-reflective black DLC-coated case for merging effortlessly into the blackness of the night.

The new Bremont S502 Jet and Supermarine Chrono Jet watches belong to the British watch manufacturer’s Supermarine collection. Here, watches are equipped with vital functions to assist with extreme diving. The two new models come fitted with unidirectional and bi-directional rotating bezels respectively, as well as a protective patented anti-shock movement mount. Each measure a diameter of 43mm and offer a useful 42-hour power reserve once fully wound. These essential features assist with important (and sometimes life-threatening) tasks whilst undertaking missions in a sheath of black. Designed to assist and enhance every high-risk military operation at night, the Bremont S502 Jet and Supermarine Chrono Jet are poised for action and on high alert.

The Bremont S502 Jet watch

Two key features of the new Bremont S502 Jet watch are its impressive 500-meter water resistance and its GMT function for keeping track of a second time zone. Bremont’s vintage ’51’ lume lights the way at night with nickel-plated hands, whilst applied indexes treated with blue emission Super-LumiNova material pop against a stealthy black backdrop. The central raised section of the dial has an attractive tapestry-effect applied upon its surface, whereas the GMT hand stands out from the red coloured lollipop-style second hand with a burnt orange arrow-shaped head. A date window sits at 3 o’clock underneath a domed piece of anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass.

To assist with the 500-meter water-resistant capability of the new Bremont S502 Jet watch, the case has been equipped with a helium escape valve and a crown protector, finished with a bronze-coloured ring to match the burnt orange GMT hand on the dial. The model’s black-coated stainless steel case is forged from Bremont’s Trip-Tick case construction with a scratch-resistant DLC treatment and is topped with a unidirectional bezel. A black ceramic bezel insert depicts the 60-minute dive scale in a blue emission Super-LumiNova treatment. Sitting at a depth of 16.5mm, the masculine-infused design of the new stealthy Bremont S502 Jet is leveraged further by its powerful movement, equipped with a 42-hour power reserve. The Calibre BE-93-2AV is modified by Bremont experts and features a Glucydor balance wheel, Anachron balance spring and Nivaflex mainspring, which assists the movement to perform at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The new Bremont S502 Jet watch comes fitted on a textured black rubber strap with a fastening that has been executed in the same black DLC-coated stainless steel material.

The Bremont Supermarine Chrono Jet watch

The new Bremont Supermarine Chrono Jet watch is modelled on the original Supermarine Chrono DNA and features the same three-piece case construction featured in the new Bremont S502 Jet watch and is crafted from jet-treated stainless steel. This case sits at 15.8mm on the wrist, however, making for an unusually slim profile for a sports chronograph watch. Presenting the time on a black dial, the chronograph counters of the new Supermarine Chrono Jet watch are displayed in silver offering a 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock, a 12-hour totaliser at 6 o’clock and a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock. The hands of the dial are presented in a gold plating, giving them an almost bronze-coloured hue for enhanced legibility. The applied indexes around the hour track of the model’s black metal dial are plated in gold and filled with a blue emission Super-LumiNova material to match the central hour and minute hands.  A silver dial ring parades the very edge of the dial, displaying the minutes, whilst the arrow-tipped GMT hand in this design is shown in red. Other finer details include the red-tipped hand of the 9 o’clock sub-counter and a date window displayed at 4:30.

The new Bremont Supermarine Chrono Jet features a 24-hour track upon its black ceramic insert on a bi-directional rotating bezel and offers 200-meter water resistance. A domed anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass front protects the surface of the dial from damage, whilst inside the watch, the same BE-93-2AV powers on relentlessly. The push-pieces at 2 and 4 o’clock on the side of the case are screwed down and the model is fitted on a stylish black rubber strap to complete its stealthy aesthetic.
