Breitling Unveils Avenger Chronograph GMT Watch in Black

As classic as they come, the Breitling Avenger watch collection makes way for the new Avenger Chronograph GMT with a sleek black dial and a choice between a robust steel bracelet or a more casual calfskin leather band
A bit about the Breitling Avenger
Breitling Avenger watches have always guaranteed robustness and sturdiness. Back in 2019, Breitling assembled an Aviation Pioneers Squad to mark the release of its new reinvented Avenger models. The team comprised astronaut, Scott Kelly, commander of the Spanish Air Squad, Rocio Gonzalez Torres, and world-champion drone pilot, Luke Bannister. Since the launch of the new collection, models like the Breitling Avenger Chronograph 45 and Chronograph 45 Night Mission proved popular for their sleek blue and green khaki dials respectively, as well as their lightweight DLC-coated titanium cases. The Breitling Avenger Swiss Air Force Team Limited Edition watch bore the Swiss Air Force Team’s 55th-anniversary logo engraved on the caseback while the Avenger Automatic 45 Seawolf boasted a vibrant yellow dial. Sportier models were also released, like the Breitling Avenger Chronograph 43 with a robust steel-on-steel design and an intense black dial. Now, this same stealthy black dial has been paired with the Chronograph GMT model, offering an additional time zone for those who frequently travel on business or for pleasure.
The new Breitling Avenger Chronograph GMT 45
There are several features of the Breitling Avenger Chronograph GMT 45 watch that put unrivalled safety at the forefront of its robust, aggressive design. Take, for example, its broad stainless steel case measuring a 45mm diameter. The case is strengthened by a sapphire crystal glass front with layers of anti-reflective treatment applied to both sides. The glass grants you a clear view of the display whether caught under natural sunlight or artificial lighting. The back of the case is fortified further with a closed and screwed-in structure whilst the crown at the 3 o’clock position is screw-locked with two gaskets. The steel case is integrated with 300-meter water resistance making it an ideal companion for travel, sport and leisure.
Inside the robust case of the new men’s Breitling Avenger Chronograph GMT 45 watch is the Breitling 13 calibre, which performs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour and produces a power reserve once fully wound of 48 hours. Its functions include seconds, minutes and hours, as well as a chronograph 1/4th of a second feature, 30-minute function and 12-hour function, a 24-hour hand and a date indicator. The automatic movement comprising a total of 25 jewels propels a central hour and minute hand around a sleek black dial. Both hands have been treated with Super-LumiNova material that glows richly in the dark. These central hands are accompanied by a 1/4th of a second chronograph hand and a vibrant red-coated GMT hand with a distinctive arrow-shaped tip. This GMT hand can read the home time against a 24-hour scale whilst the main local time can be read from the central hour and minute hands. The GMT hand can be set easily by the 3 o’clock crown whilst the days of the month can be tracked via the date window on the dial at 3 o’clock. Framed by an hour track representing oversized Arabic numerals is a set of three legible sub-counters. The small seconds counter is positioned at 9 o’clock, whilst the 30-minute counter sits at 12 o’clock, balanced by the 6 o’clock 12-hour totaliser.
Finishing the robust and action-ready style of the new Breitling Avenger Chronograph GMT 45 watch, experts at the Swiss watchmaker’s facilities have fitted the watch on a three-row stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp or a black calfskin leather strap with a stainless steel tang-style clasp, Both buckles have been engraved with the Breitling logo as a stamp of quality and authenticity.
