Breitling Launches new Navitimer Watches in Light and Dark Green Dial Tones

The Navitimer is an iconic cockpit tool that doubles up as a modern-day statement piece. Adding a splash of colour to the collection, the new Navitimer watches come in dial colours of emerald green and mint green. Green dial watches are more versatile than you might think. Check these out and you’ll see how.

From the pistachio tones of the Breitling Premier Heritage B01 to special edition Monaco watches of the TAG Heuer catalogue and even the rich emerald green shades of the sporty Baume et Mercier Riviera – green dial watches are still a rising trend and if you don’t already own one, it’s something you’ll want to consider for 2025. On that note, take a look at the new green-dial versions of the Breitling Navitimer – one of the world’s most iconic aviation watches. These new modes come in versions of mint green with black-filled chronograph counters, emerald green models in chronograph and non-chronograph versions and indulgent 18ct rose gold options, both on black leather bands or metal bracelets. Meet the new green Breitling Navitimer watches, but be warned, by the time you get to the end of this guide, at least one of these green dial watches will have stolen your heart and no doubt will be making its way into your collection.

The colour green has emerged as a captivating trend over the last few years and its surge in popularity is showing no signs of slowing down. Green is a colour associated with nature and harmony, but it also looks pretty cool in a technical-looking watch like the Navitimer. With the ability to bring a touch of freshness to the wrist, these new green dial Breitling watches from the Navitimer collection are not your average green colours. Moreover, experts at the brand’s ateliers choose a mint green dial for two variants (one on a steel bracelet and one on a black leather band) and an emerald green colour available in steel or 18ct rose gold. Green dial watches like these certainly make for an attractive alternative to the more classic and mundane black, silver and blue dials, making a bold statement on the wrist, whether paired with something sporty, casual or sophisticated. The influence of the green dial watch is not just down to the biggest names in the industry either. Traser, Sternglas, and Squale have all dipped their toes in green-tinted waters with sporty, attractive timepieces that are perfect for utilising in all manner of situations and environments.

A Functional Tool for the Cockpit

Green dial watches like the new Navitimer watches from Breitling embrace versatility. But at the same time, they point to an important part of the watchmaker’s story. The first Navitimer was launched in 1952 and was developed for the AOPA. First and foremost, it was a functional tool for the cockpit and borrowed the slide rule bezel from the Chronomat series. The slide rule bezel itself is a technical feature that can perform several tasks and help with several cockpit-based procedures. Some include climbs and descent rates, measuring mileage, fuel consumption, basic division and multiplication, currency conversions and a whole lot more. To make things even harder for any avid watch enthusiast to resist these new mesmerising green dial Navitimer watches – the models bear the original AOPA winged logo that used to take up residence under the 12 o’clock location on older models.

As always, the new Navitimer watches bear several notable features. These include the B winged logo base featured on the red-coated central chronograph seconds hand and a trio of chronograph counters (on the chronograph versions) placed at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, offering small seconds, minutes and hours. There are, of course, simple three-handed versions that go without the chronograph complications. These are more basic in design, featuring strong sapphire crystal glass fronts and flat slide rules for effortless air-bound calculations. The chronograph versions boast black-filled counters, whether on the emerald green or mint green versions. Breitling experts also equip the chronograph version with a see-through caseback crafted from sapphire crystal glass, while the three-handed models have a solid closed caseback. You also have the option to choose between a 7-link bracket, whether in stainless steel or rose gold, or a black leather band. All strap options bear the Breitling logo engraved into the surface of the folding clasp and are all designed for optimum comfort on the wrist. The new green dial Navitimer watches by Breitling measure 42mm, exuding a strong wrist presence no matter what they are paired with. Inside the robust case is an in-house B01 movement, which delivers a power reserve of 70 hours once fully wound.

The green dial watch will always have a place in a discerning collector’s watch box. The versatile, refreshing change this dial colour can bring to any collection speaks for itself. If not just for the added pop of colour a green dial watch can add to the wrist, there is something so classic about wearing one. The Navitimer hits the spot of an old-come-modern tool watch with its confident 42mm case size available in a choice of materials and straps. Suffice to say, if you’re looking to invest in a watch with a splash of colour this coming year, do it in style with the trusty Navitimer – an iconic aviation timepiece that carries a fascinating history and continues to evolve year by year.
