BALL Introduces Roadmaster Rescue Chronograph Limited Edition

BALL Watch Company is no outsider to formidable tool watches and their latest arrival, the BALL Roadmaster Rescue Chronograph collection, is designed especially for search and rescue missions. Whether by land, sea or air, every rescue mission is different, but all have one common truth: every second matters. With chronograph timing, a pulsometer scale, patented pusher locking systems and 37 micro gas tubes on the dial, the 1,000 piece Roadmaster Rescue Chronograph Limited Editions deliver extreme accuracy, easy readability and high functionality.

Without hesitation, rescue teams all over the world expose themselves to daunting environments, some with intense heat, others freezing cold. With this in mind, BALL have engineered a series of limited edition watches designed to survive the unnerving conditions rescuers must endure. The BALL Roadmaster Rescue Chronograph is forged from titanium for this reason, a material renowned for its high impact strength, lightweight comfort, corrosion resistance and hypoallergenic properties. Titanium makes its way across the entire 41 millimetre diameter profile including the screw down crown water resistant to 100 metres and tapered bracelet. The case also measures to 14.8 millimetres thick and is topped by scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass treated with anti-reflective coating.

By utilising a special cold temperature resistance oil, the automatic winding movement inside each BALL Roadmaster Rescue Chronograph Limited Edition promises a steady accuracy in all volatile conditions ranging from –45°C to 80°C. The constant operation indicator at 9 o’clock lets you know the timepiece is running correctly, while the patented Amortiser anti-shock system surrounds the movement and absorbs all and any impacts. The RR1402 calibre is based on the trusty ETA 7550 and runs at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, promises a power reserve of 42 hours and comes equipped with 25 jewels. At the centre, it delivers central hands aimed at hours, minutes and chronograph seconds, two counters for subsidiary seconds and 12 hours counter and a day and date window at 3 o’clock.

The mechanism is engineered alongside the brand’s patented pusher locking system which allows you to screw the pushers in place to avoid any accidental manipulation of timing for increased accuracy. The chronograph function of the BALL Roadmaster Rescue Chronograph also works in unison with the pulsometer scale adored around the edge of the dial for measuring heart rate. For times when rescue mission might require underwater exploration, the limited editions are also equipped with a ceramic diving bezel kitted out with bold micro gas tube insets for easy legibility in all lighting.

Alongside the luminous bezel, the dial of each BALL Roadmaster Rescue Chronograph Limited Edition guarantees exceptional readability fitted with 37 micro gas tubes. BALL’s micro gas tube technology is one of their finest innovations. Filled with tritium gas, the tubes promise incomparable radiance to any other luminous technology in the watchmaking world, shining automatically from the first sign of darkness. They do not require any recharge from the sun or any external light source and do not drain any of the power reserve. The markers also guarantee superior brightness that lasts up to 25 years. No matter what hour the rescue alarm sounds, critical timing information can be read effortlessly.

There are currently four BALL Roadmaster Rescue Chronograph Limited Edition watches available, each adhering to the same technology, functionality, price and limited edition status and differing only in their dial and bezel colourways.  The first reference DC3030C-S1-WH opts for a crisp white dial with contrasting blue counters and a matching blue ceramic bezel while DC3030C-S1-BE goes all out with all elements in blue. Reference DC3030C-S-BE is very similar to the latter with an all blue dial but has a black ceramic bezel ring while the last design, model DC3030C-S-BK, stands out with a black dial with matching black subsidiary counters and an all-black ceramic bezel. All variants retail at £2,120 and are limited to 1,000 pieces each.
