A look at the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf World Time Watches

Equipped with a red or black bezel for tracking 24 world cities as well as local and home time, the new Zodiac Super Sea Wolf World Time watches are exclusive to just 500 pieces worldwide and make a compact and reliable travel tool for globe-trotters and professionals alike.

If you want a watch for tracking time zones simultaneously, you don’t have to burn a hole in your pocket. No seriously, it’s true. The new Zodiac Limited Edition Super Sea Wolf World Time watches were released earlier this year and if you haven’t yet had the chance to check them out, you definitely want to be devoting a little of your time to that. The Zodiac Super Sea Wolf World Time watches are limited edition and come on a black or red bezel option. Both are incredibly stylish and come with a spec list that is sure to impress, especially if you’ve invested in high-end world time watches in the past. Zodiac has been working hard as of late to close that gap between a ridiculously expensive travel watch and an affordable one that doesn’t have to sacrifice a whole load of features just to offer a more appealing price tag. We think the brand has done it with the new Super Sea Wolf World Time watches.

Take, for example, the model with a black bezel. It goes by the reference ZO9409. It offers a clean and classic look for wearing every day of the week, so it’s not even a watch that you’ll necessarily have to confine to travel purposes alone. It’s a GMT watch with the added benefit of 24 world cities around its bidirectional rotating bezel. The red-brick bezel iteration has a reference number of ZO9410 and, like its counterpart, offers all the same features but boasts a somewhat edgier persona on the wrist, thanks to its quirky bezel colour. This new Zodiac travel watch adds a pop of colour to an office suit or professional travel attire whilst somehow managing to retain an unmissable retro vibe. That’s because Zodiac pays homage to a very similar model from its 1970s catalogue – a time when a travel watch was considered a high-end statement piece for elite businessmen only. These new models can be enjoyed by anyone, however, and are powered by a reliable automatic movement housed inside a robust yet compact case.

The two iterations of the new Zodiac Limited Edition Super Sea Wolf range both measure the same diameter of 40mm and have both been crafted from brushed stainless steel. They’re also exclusive to just 500 pieces worldwide each. The red bezel version features a warm silver sunburst dial, whilst its black bezel sibling presents the time on a deep putty grey coloured dial. Both provide the perfect backdrops for a set of baton-style indexes around the hour track, as well as squared-off central hands. These two elements are reminiscent of the brand’s earlier 1970s travel watch in particular and have been treated with a generous layer of Super-LumiNova to assist with timekeeping in the dark or during the night. These features lie underneath a strong pane of anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass, primed for referencing at a glance whether under artificial lighting or direct sunlight. Joining these features is a red and white GMT hand. There’s also a 24-hour track on an inner flange (either highlighted in a black hue for the red bezel version or a silver hue for the black bezel variation). This 24-hour scale can also be aligned with one of the world cities to track local time but also provides a reference to the other 23 cities around the world at a glance. In addition to this, the new Zodiac Super Sea Wolf World Time watches come with a date aperture at 3 o’clock and offer 200-meter water resistance.

Inside this robust steel case is the Soprod C125 Calibre, which puts on an unfaltering performance behind a closed caseback bearing the Zodiac name and logo upon its surface. The self-winding movement is capable of performing at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivers a 42-hour power reserve once fully wound. Its Incabloc technology is a useful feature, protecting the intricate parts of the movement from shock and impact. It offers basic seconds, minutes and hours, together with a date and GMT function. The two new Zodiac Limited Edition Super Sea Wolf World Time watches come on a brushed stainless steel bracelet, enclosing with a folding clasp that has been engraved with the famous Zodiac logo.
