A Look at the Norqain Adventure Sport Black Diamonds Limited Edition

Norqain has transformed its popular Adventure Sport watch into a contemporary and scintillating unisex version limited to just 75 pieces worldwide. The black-clad luxury sports watch goes all-out with a generous helping of black diamonds. Meet the new Norqain Adventure Sport Black Diamonds Limited Edition watch

Being one of the UK’s leading luxury watch stockists, we cover a lot of articles on sports watches here at Jura Watches, particularly the steel luxe sports watch type. Since the 1970s, the iconic steel sports watch has been a winner. An integrated bracelet, a strong sapphire glass front, a sufficient water resistant capability and a simple three-handed dial layout (usually paired with a circular or octagonal-shaped bezel) has been the recipe to success for the archetypal sports watch offering. These tool watches have a style that proves popular with young collectors and experienced watch connoisseurs alike. Still, there is always room for something a little different and the Norqain Adventure Sport Black Diamonds watch certainly taps into this niche. It’s a great choice if you want the robustness and reliability of a sports watch, combined with a sleek and contemporary styling.

One of the key advantages of the Norqain Adventure Sport watch collection is that its much-loved versatility as a daily companion is also distinctly “Norqain” in its looks. To conceptualise the design of the Adventure Sport watch, brand CEO Ben Kuffer joined forces with Ted Schneider and worked alongside the Norqain team to create a well-rounded timepiece that could adapt to any situation. The watches within the collection are affordably priced making them a great value proposition for seasoned collectors as well as those who consider themselves well educated within the realm of sports watches.

The Norqain Adventure Sport watch collection, which has been around since 2018, is recognisable for its unique dial pattern. The surface of the display boasts the repeated Norqain design in a mix of different shades, adding a sense of depth to each design. The collection is divided into two sections – one that offers an automatic chronograph design and one that offers the three-handed automatic version. These tools are developed for all kinds of outdoor activities and pursuits and promise an easily readable dial for referencing during such tasks. The no-nonsense tool watch has an instrumental look but has now received a makeover – this time in scintillating diamonds that uphold the watch’s masculine and aggressive look, whilst offering something a little more refined and opulent.

Norqain is already at an advantage when it comes to creating a sports watch that is both stylish and robust. For a start, the company is headed by young entrepreneur, Ben Kuffer, son of the former Breitling owner and the brand’s team also includes the likes of industry legend, Jean Claude Biver, not to mention ice hockey star Mark Streit. It means that the brand has been able to knock out an impressive number of sports watches in an incredibly short space of time whilst simultaneously fortifying its designs with reliable movements manufactured by Kenissi.

The new unisex Norqain Adventure Sport Black Diamonds watch is tailored for the slender wrist with a 37mm diameter and a sleek case crafted from stainless steel with a contemporary black DLC coating. The watch is also limited to just 75 pieces worldwide. Its universally pleasing case width and choice of black diamonds as opposed to white means that whilst there are undeniably masculine tones running throughout this design, it cannot be classified solely as a men’s watch or a women’s watch. Its substantial weight is distributed across the wrist evenly and is intended to get noticed with its confident shape and styling, even though it is neither too large nor too small for the wrist. The watch promises a 100-meter water resistance and features a useful date window at 3 o’clock, dresses against a black background to meld into the rest o the display.

A total of 60 black round brilliant-cut diamonds are placed evenly and meticulously across the surface of the watch’s unidirectional rotating bezel, amounting to a total weight of 0.84 carats. The diamond-like coating on the watch’s stainless steel surface lends itself tastefully to the patterned and textured surface of the dial, as well as the chosen black diamonds, which dance playfully under the light, creating a beautiful display of fire and brilliance. Embellishing the surface of the dial furthermore are the rose gold-plated central hour, minute and second hands. Surrounding this set-of-three hands is a track of stick hour markers executed in the same finish. Super-LumiNova material has been applied to the surface of these appliques, whilst a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass front has been secured to the top of the case to provide ultimate protection from dents, dust, heat, moisture and light damage. The glass is also treated with layers of anti-reflective material, ensuring that time can be referenced clearly and at any point in the day without its view being skewed by undesirable glare.

The new ruggedly stylish Norqain Adventure Sport Black Diamond limited edition watch of 75 pieces worldwide also features a crisp light minute scale around the periphery of the dial and is powered by the automatic Calibre NN08. The self-winding movement is based on the Sellita SW200-1. The time and date movement performs at a rate of 28,800 oscillations per hour and provides a power reserve of 38 hours once fully wound. Through the back of a sapphire exhibition caseback, a beautiful Norqain-decorated oscillating weight and engine can be admired. Aside from this, the industry-grade movement is a complete workhorse that guarantees hours of accuracy and reliability based on the natural movements of the wearer’s wrist.

A supple animal-friendly rubber strap completes this Adventure Sport watch, securing with a black DLC-coated steel buckle that has been stamped with the Norqain logo. The surface of the rubber band features a knurled pattern that matches the finish on the side of the bezel.
