Oris John Coltrane Limited Edition Watch Review

Oris has unveiled a limited edition timepiece dedicated to the talented jazz musician and composer John Coltrane.

"A true musical legend, saxophonist John Coltrane's immeasurable contribution to the jazz scene influenced generations of musicians both during his life and after his death," the brand says.

The Oris John Coltrane Limited Edition is limited to 1,000 pieces, and is presented in a luxurious velvet lined box in the style of a musical instrument case.

The watch has been designed to "evoke the spirit of Coltrane's golden years in the late 1950s American jazz scene", with a highly curved sapphire crystal inspired by retro plexiglass, and a stainless steel case that resembles Oris designs from the 1950s.

The blue minute track on the black dial pays tribute to Coltrane's vinyl album 'Blue Train', which was released in 1957.

The timepiece is powered by the Oris calibre 733 automatic movement. It has a 38 mm case, and the case back is engraved. It comes with a black leather strap, and is water resistant to 3 bar.
