TW Steel has launched a collection of special edition timepieces as part of a fundraising initiative for the RhinoAction Group Effort (RAGE) in South Africa. Retail proceeds from the watches will be donated directly to RAGE to assist in its fight against illegal rhino poaching.
"I am exceptionally proud that TW Steel can get behind such a worthy initiative in South Africa," said Jordy Cobelens, TW Steel CEO. "I know how passionate people are there about protecting the rhino population, not least as they represent such a powerful symbol of their environment. I'm delighted we can contribute with our special edition timepieces, safe in the knowledge that RAGE will ensure all proceeds are managed appropriately and that those who support this effort are making a real difference."
The collection is based on the TW Steel Canteen Style. Each special edition model features a laser engraved RAGE logo on the case back, and a rhino watermark on the dial. The case is made from 316L stainless steel and offers water resistance to 100 metres.
The men's watch features titanium sandblasted coating, and is available with a 45 mm or 50 mm case diameter. The dial is matte dark grey, and it comes with a dark grey leather strap.
The ladies models both have a 45 mm case, and 56 crystals around the bezel. One model has a matte white dial and white croco print strap, while the second has a matte dark grey dial with dark grey embossed leather strap.
RAGE Spokesman Andy Rice said: "The sale of this special edition range of TW Steel watches will make a real difference to RAGE's funding efforts. It's a rare examples of time being on the rhinos' side for once."
