TAG Heuer Watches Celebrates Oracle Team USA Win

TAG Heuer has paid tribute to its official partner Oracle Team USA for its dramatic victory at the 34th America's Cup.
"We are extremely proud of every member of this extraordinary crew and every component on this incredible boat," said TAG Heuer CEO and President Stéphane Linder. "Oracle Team USA showed amazing drive and guts, overcoming incredible adversity - losing boat one, getting docked two races and having to give up their star wing trimmer, but they kept their nerve, worked harder, and plowed on. Oracle Team USA had been down 8-1 in the best-of-17 regatta, with Emirates Team New Zealand looking to claim victory - but the team achieved a thrilling comeback, winning eight straight races to triumph 9-8.
Linder said: "To keep your focus and stay confident under such intense conditions and against such incredible odds is a remarkable demonstration of mental force and commitment. These men are true exemplars of performance and audacity at the highest level. We couldn’t have hoped for a better representative of TAG Heuer's DNA and values."
Each member of the Oracle Team USA crew wore an exclusive TAG Heuer intelligent smartwatch, customised for their individual specific tasks. Design as a special edition of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer 500M Calibre 72 Countdown chronograph, the watches were wirelessly linked to the boat's computers and provided real-time information and race data, including boat speed, foil balance, sail pressure, true wind speed, true wind direction and true wind angle.
