Luminox Watch Supports Jeff Zwart in Pikes Peak Hill Climb
Thursday - 18 July 2013
The Pikes Peak Hill Climb is the second oldest motorsports race in America, and is considered to be "one of the the ultimate motorsport challenges". It includes 156 turns over 12.42 miles, and is one of the highest altitude races in the world, with a finishing altitude of 14,110 feet.
Luminox founder Barry Cohen commented: "Jeff is known for his high adrenaline fast-paced TV commercials and of course his many wins behind the wheel of fast vehicles. He is a great representative for the Luminox brand which creates products built to withstand the challenges and adventures someone like Jeff faces."
Jeff Zwart has competed at Pikes Peak for 14 years, and is a seven-time class champion, setting five new records. In the 2013 event, held in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Zwart drove a specially prepared Porsche GT3 Cup car and finished in third place.
Luminox says it is "proud to support Zwart and to work with him on future endeavours", adding that the durability and functionality of its watches, including the Luminox Light Technology self-powered illumination system, makes them "ideal timepieces for those that live an active or adventurous lifestyle."
