Bell & Ross has created two limited edition timepieces in tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Dassault Falcon jet.
The Bell & Ross Vintage Falcon watches pay special homage to the innovations of the 1960s and the creation of Dassault's Mystère-Falcon 20, the best business jet of its time. The twin-engine, 10-seat jet made its maiden flight on 4th May 1963 and became an immediate commercial success.
"Functional and timeless, these new models illustrate with elegance two of Bell & Ross' favourite worlds: aeronautics and precision," the brand says. "Marcel Dassault liked to say that 'a beautiful plane is a plane that flies well.' Likewise, Bell & Ross embraces the philosophy that the beauty of an object, no matter how sophisticated it is, can never match the logical culmination of its primary function."
The BR 123 and BR 126 Vintage Falcon models are limited to 500 pieces each. Both feature a brown dial and brown leather strap, with the Falcon's outline silk-screened on the dial at 6 o'clock. A '50 years of Passion and Innovation Dassault-Falcon' logo decorates the case back, appearing in a metallic form on a sapphire glass background.
The Vintage Falcon watches have a 41 mm case in polished steel, and a black bezel with 60 minutes graduation. The numerals, index and hands have a sand-coloured photo-luminescent coating, and the watches have an ultra-curved and anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The BR 126 Vintage Falcon has a two-counter chronograph with 60-second and 30-minute accumulators.
