Nomos Glashütte Tangomat GMT Plus Watch Review
Wednesday - 12 December 2012
More than 3,000 products were considered for the prize, with the winner chosen by 49 members of an international jury. The Tangomat GMT Plus impressed the jurors with its clearly legible dial and easy-to-use second time zone. This is the second time the brand has won the award, with the Nomos Glashütte Zürich selected for the prize last year.
"[The iF Product Design Award is] probably Germany's most prestigious product design prize. For decades this award has been the measure of design excellence," the brand says. "Nomos Glashütte is proud to receive the accolade for the second year running."
The Nomos Glashütte Tangomat GMT Plus is powered by ξ (Xi) movement - manufactory calibre with automatic winding and world time indicator. The dial is galvanised and white silver-plated, with tempered blue steel hands. It features a time conversion disc at 9 o'clock, displaying the number of hours separating the wearer from the home time, and a 24-hour indicator.
The watch has a 40 mm stainless steel case with domed sapphire crystal glass and a sapphire crystal case back, and comes with a Horween Shell Cordovan black leather strap.
Available now for £2,870 at Jura Watches.
