Raymond Weil Watch International Photography Contest Begins

Raymond Weil is hosting its 7th international photography contest, designed to celebrate artistic talent and boost the career of the winning photographer.

The Swiss watch brand is heavily inspired by the arts, and focuses on beautiful photography in its own advertising campaigns. The annual Raymond Weil photography competition allows the brand to support artistic talent.
The contest invites artists to submit an original photograph inspired by a specific theme. The 2012 theme has been titled 'Precision is my inspiration', which is also the tagline of the 2012-2013 Raymond Weil campaign that "pays homage to the great artists, to the fruits of their work, which keep on touching our hearts and inspiring us."
A jury made up of Raymond Weil staff and arts industry professionals will select 20 finalists based on the pictures they believe to be the most accomplished. The shortlisted photographs will then be put to a public vote at the brand's Facebook page, where fans may vote for their favourite photos.

The photographer that receives the most votes will win US $5,000, and an exhibition in a recognised art gallery with international media coverage. Raymond Weil will also support the artist in their future work by communication throughout their careers.

The contest launched on 1st October 2012 and submissions will be accepted at the Raymond Weil website until 30th November. Online voting will run from 19th December to 20th January 2013, before the winning photographer is revealed on 21st January.
