Baume & Mercier Hampton Watch Review

Baume & Mercier is promoting its new Hampton line as the "perfect collection for couples", with matching timepieces for men and women presented in a unique 'duo' box.
The Hampton range is described as "contemporary and elegant" with influences from 1940s designs: a combination of "relaxed style with the finest craftmanship".
The men's Hampton 10029 features automatic ETA 2894 movement with chronograph and date functions. The satin-finished steel case is rectangular, measuring 38.3 x 48.4 mm, and has a curved sapphire crystal and decorated case back.
The dial is sun satin-finished and opaline silver-coloured with riveted Arabic numerals. It comes with a dark brown alligator strap.
The ladies Hampton 10023 has a smaller rectangular case, measuring 27 x 40 mm, in satin-finished diamond set steel. It includes a date function, curved sapphire crystal and decorated case back, with a sun satin-finished and opaline silver-coloured dial with riveted Arabic numerals. The watch has quartz movement and a satin-finished steel bracelet.
The new collection has been created with marriage in mind, as the luxury brand notes that many of its watches are given as wedding gifts or bought to commemorate anniversaries - complementing its "life is about moments" campaign. Baume & Mercier believes the introduction of the duo box ensures the watches are presented in packaging "as memorable as the special moments it marks."
