Retro styling seems perfectly suited to Baume & Mercier's reinvented image, if the success of last year's Classima Executives range, launched for the brand's 175th, is anything to go by. Continuing in this vein, the Baume & Mercier design studio has created two new models with an even stronger vintage spirit. The Classima Executives L Retro houses a self-winding Dubois Dépraz movement with a jumping-hour complication and a regulator layout. The regulator function first appeared in the XVIIth century, enabling the hours, minutes and seconds to be read separately and therefore more legibly. Further, the over-sized crown and generously cambered crystal are typical of the watches of the 1950s. In keeping with the brand's age, a limited series of 176 pieces has been created in red gold – an obvious material preference for a timepiece evoking the past.
