Tissot Watch To Be Official Timekeeper Of Superbike Event
Wednesday - 15 February 2012
Luxury watch brand Tissot has been chosen as Official Timekeeper and Sponsor of the FIM Superbike World Championship.
The role is to last a number of years but has already begun, with Tissot recently appearing at the Superbike round in Netherlands earlier in April. Tissot will be present at all the FIM Superbike World Championship’s 13 rounds, which will be held across 10 separate countries.
The event is gaining a growing following, figures suggest. In 2010 it was shown in 173 countries, garnering an audience of 489 million – 33% more people than had seen it the previous year.
Paolo Flammini, CEO of Infront Motor Sports, which runs the event, said: "Tissot is a top international brand with a tradition in sports sponsorship. With the long-term commitment to the FIM Superbike World Championship it acknowledges the series' professional development and growing popularity in the past as well as its potential for future growth."
François Thiébaud, President of Tissot watches added: Time measurement is the essence of a racing competition and as Official Timekeeper Tissot will strongly benefit from this focus. The global media coverage of the FIM Superbike World Championship will further multiply this effect and sustainably strengthen the association between brand and competition.'
