TW Steel Renault F1 Team Watch Review
Wednesday - 15 February 2012
TW Steel’s partnership with Renault F1 Team as their Official Timing Partner since 2009, running a three-year deal, saw the release of the TW Steel Renault F1 Team collection. The two executions – Pilot and CEO Tech – offered fans of TW and Renault F1 alike a piece of heritage to wear on their wrists.
The relationship was further entwined by signing David Coulthard and Eddie Jordan as ambassadors. The two flew the flag for TW Steel on the BBC wearing their watches during every race (Unfortunately the BBC cameras never zoomed in enough to see what’s on their wrists, apart from that they are big!).
Indy Car Series Champion, Dario Franchitti, also joined the TW Steel fold and immediately set to work designing a watch that perfectly reflected the key associations in his career. The Dario Franchitti Edition was unveiled in July while Dario continued his impressive winning streak and in October was crowned the 2010 IZOD Indycar Series Champion.
Ambassadors also announced in 2010 were Brazilian F1 driver Lucas Di Grassi and racing legend Emerson Fittipaldi.
The 2011 F1 season is predicted to be an even more exiting year than 2010 – look out for the black and gold rocket!
