The Exclusive Oris Event at Jura Watches

Synonymous with fashion, style and quality, our Leeds-based W. Hamond boutique in Victoria Quarter launched a successful evening last week, celebrating the newest developments from prestigious Swiss Watchmakers, Oris

The watch club event which took place in the evening of June 4th, provided a unique opportunity for watch enthusiasts to visit our watch shop for an exclusive preview of the brand’s delights, fresh from Baselworld 2015. Our dedicated staff with a genuine interest in the world of finest quality, mechanical watch engineering, endeavoured to entertain guests travelling from far and wide with a selection of wines and snacks whilst they mused and marvelled over the stunning selection of new breeds from the iconic brand. Visitors were encouraged to bring their favourite Oris timepiece to the event in order to share their love and passion for such beautiful instruments, whilst swopping and sharing the “trying-on” experience with the latest supreme additions. Whilst the evening got under way and our Oris representatives warmed the atmosphere with talks of their favourite elements to these pure, distinct time-keeping engines, others soon joined in with the culture, sharing advice and sentiments among fellow adorers.

Among the unique and extensive range on preview that night, Oris representatives were taken aback by an extraordinarily rare limited edition timepiece presented by one guest believed to be one of only five lucky owners. The Louis Armstrong edition was produced in the year 2000 to commemorate the King of Jazz, famous for creating trumpet solos and popularising the use of scat.

Newcomer Oris Divers Sixty Five watch, priced at £1150.00 received welcome attention whilst dressed in its sleek and sporty, new black and cream aesthetic. Reminiscent of the 1960’s retro look, a bubble curved sapphire crystal glass window and a 40mm brushed stainless steel casing injects a contemporary twist. With a unidirectional bezel and robust rubber strap, guests found the timepiece a refreshing yet innovative novelty.

The Oris Audi Sport GMT priced at £1500.00 titillated outsiders passing by on the street to review the watch’s strong magnetising masculinity. The latest addition to the Oris Audi Sport collection cements the ever-growing partnership between the watch makers and the Audi teams by incorporating a number of sport-infused elements to embellish the relieved silver dial. Racing red accents found on the sweeping seconds hand, small seconds hand and above the 12th hour mark, reiterate the spirit of the motor sports universe with a sophisticated grandness. Gentlemen that opted for the chance to get up close and personal with the timepiece found it hard to disconnect with the watch’s overpowering charm.

However, if there was one watch that was turning wrists rather than heads throughout the evening, it was the sensational Oris Calibre 111. Not only for its confident stealth and alluring beauty, but for the purity within its mechanical engineered prowess – the thoroughbred watch in both the deep anthracite grey and sumptuous silver dial versions, sat enveloping an authentic old-style 1960’s Sportstar in perfect composure. Enticing its spectators to grab the opportunity for “hands-on” time, the first Oris watch to be implemented with an in-house movement was the talking point on everyone’s mouths. After a long time waiting, Oris devotees can now rest assured that the Swiss watch makers of excellence have finally reached a pinnacle of evolution. Setting benchmarks for those brands aspiring to match their milestones in success, Oris have made it considerably hard for rivals to equal their taste in precision-focussed beauty. The revelation of the Calibre 111 marks the next chapter in the brand’s prestigious heritage, a turning point of which we have all long awaited.
