Tissot T-Race MotoGP Automatic Limited Edition Watch Review

Tissot release their MotoGP range consisting of five Limited Edition timepieces at Baselworld 2015.

To celebrate their longstanding collaboration with the MotoGP World Championship, Tissot launch an outstanding collection that boasts the precision and innovation of Grand Prix racing. Three of the timepieces are named after a trio of MotoGP athletes and Tissot watch ambassadors - Nicky Hayden, Stefan Bradi and Thomas Luthi - the forth is operated by an automatic mechanical movement manufactured in 3,333 pieces and the fifth contains a quartz movement crafted to a 8,888 limitation.

All of the Limited Edition sport watches are presented in a racing helmet themed collectible box for a unique, striking and special finishing touch. Each helmet corresponds with the bold accent colour on the dial and racing stripes on the rubber strap. Green, yellow and red are their choice of colours to provide a strong, bold collection and the watch proudly sits visible in the transparent eye view.

The new design features an angular case that is heavily inspired by motorbike racing. The chronograph pushers echo bike foot rests and the straps reflect back suspension rods; a relevant nod to the luxury brands sporting heritage. Featuring existing design details from Tissot’s previous MotoGP watches such as the black bezel and magnifying-glass date window, the new collection proudly cements the Swiss brands identity familiar with loyal followers.

In particular, the Tissot T-Race MotoGP Automatic Limited Edition 2015 holds an exclusive air with a grey checkered flag motif and ‘starting grid’ indices. A tachymeter scale encircles the dial, which is framed by a 316L stainless steel case, treated with black PVD and the hands are coated with Super-LumiNova for readability in restricted lighting.

Tissot continues to stay at the forefront of design and watchmaking to embrace the dynamic nature that the sport demands. The strong alliance ensures that the technological advancements required continues to evolve to commit to a more refined and accurate performance.
