Graham Chronofighter Oversize Superlight Carbon Watch Review
Wednesday - 21 January 2015
The Chronofighter Oversize Superlight Carbon was the first carbon fibre made Chronofighter watch combining complex machining processes. The original timepiece featured a striking red colour scheme.
Now launching the second of these innovative Graham watches, the new yellow model features four different high-technology forms in high-strength carbon processing. Carbon is lightweight, strong and malleable, making it the preferred material in aeronautics, car racing, aerospace and sport. Graham has combined carbon fibre and a strong polymer matrix to "create the most resistant and lightest time machine".
The Graham Chronofighter Oversize Superlight Carbon has a 47 mm carbon nanotube speckled composite case in black. The start and stop lever, a renowned signature of Graham watches, is made of plain carbon fibre and is the result of a very specific machining process. This provides the watch with more stiffness and enhanced usability.
A tachymeter scale facilitates the measurement of speed, and a white painted indicator on the reversed minutes counter shows the starting point.
The watch has a shiny carbon bezel and a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both faces. It is powered by the calibre G1747 automatic chronograph movement with Incabloc shock absorber and 48-hour power reserve.
