Nomos Glashütte Watch Metro Wins Good Design Award 2014
Wednesday - 07 January 2015
The Good Design Award was founded in 1950 by a group of designers including Charles and Ray Eames. Presented by the Chicago Athenaeum each year, the prize is internationally recognised as denoting innovative design and objectively high-quality products which combine form, function and aesthetics. The Metro's award win is described by Nomos CEO Uwe Ahrendt as "the perfect end to a great year" for Nomos Glashütte watches.
The Metro was chosen from thousands of submitted entries to join the list of best design achievements worldwide. This watch also received a German Design Award in 2014, in recognition of its "youthful and cosmopolitan, elegant and straightforward" design. The elegant watch, created by Berlin-based designer Mark Braun, features the Nomos 'swing system', the exciting new in-house escapement.
