Breitling Transocean Chronograph Edition Watch Review
Friday - 31 October 2014
The 1958 Breitling timepiece was an anti-shock, anti-magnetic and extremely water-resistant model that accompanied the boom in intercontinental air travel. The new Transocean Chronograph Edition captures the character of the original, paying tribute to the "spirit of great journeys and luxury long-haul aircraft".
The Breitling Transocean Chronograph Edition has a two-tone dial with two vintage-style counters. The dial features twin zone silver-toned decor, with a date window at 6 o'clock and applied hour markers. The famous Breitling watches 'B' symbol appears in 18k gold.
The watch has a double case back: a cover, with space for a personalised engraving, is raised to reveal a sapphire crystal that displays the Breitling Calibre 01 self-winding chronograph movement, chronometer certified by the COSC.
It has a 43 mm steel case with a convex sapphire crystal, glare proofed on both sides. The timepiece comes with a perforated steel Air Race bracelet, or with a leather or crocodile leather strap.
