Bremont has been chosen to create a watch exclusively for the Counter Terrorism Command at New Scotland Yard, to commemorate its 130th anniversary.
The world's first Counter Terrorism Unit was set up in 1883 by the Metropolitan Police - a team of detectives with the task of combating terrorist campaigns against London and Great Britain. Now celebrating its 130th year, the Counter Terrorism Command, also known as SO15, is constantly alert to the threat of terrorism, and can respond to an attack anywhere in the world at a moment's notice.
"Bremont is honoured to be involved with an organisation that has played such a vital role in the security of our nation and its capital for so many years," said Nick English, Bremont co-founder. "There is such a lovely synergy between the two organisations, especially the British connection."
The exclusive watch, which will include world timer and chronograph functions, will be purchased directly by SO15 staff. Only 130 pieces will be produced, and the design will incorporate a number of features to make it unique to the Counter Terrorism Command unit.
The timepiece will have a 43 mm hardened steel case, and will be powered by a BE-54AE Bremont GMT chronometer rated mechanical movement. There will be a choice of two dial colours. A 37 mm version with a BE-36AE movement will also be available.
