Flawlessly paired for their collective passions in precision engineering, beautiful craftsmanship and high-end aesthetics, TAG Heuer and Aston Martin have partnered up once again to bring us the stunning new TAG Heuer Carrera Aston Martin 02T Limited Edition. Overflowing with prowess, the timepiece boasts a COSC certified movement, tourbillon regulator, a unique lattice brown dial and a matching brown calfskin leather strap sourced from Aston Martin cars themselves.
Based on the modern Carrera with its large modular case, the TAG Heuer Carrera Aston Martin 02T watch features a 45mm black PVD coated titanium case and a breathtaking black carbon fixed bezel. Both titanium and carbon are renowned for their lightweight and scratch resistant properties, allowing the case of the limited edition to be just as durable as the cars that inspire it. The bezel is decorated with a tachymeter scale and paired with a screw in crown with rubber grip assisting in its 100 metre water resistant rating and scratch resistant glass with anti-reflective coating for protection of the dial.
The dial is the real centrepiece to this remarkable watch, not only for its complex skeletonised components which reveal parts of the chronometer certified tourbillon movement, but for its unique and warm colour palette. Almost entirely a skeleton plate, the TAG Heuer Carrera Aston Martin 02T Limited Edition features an eye-catching dark brown lattice pattern detailed with rose gold plating on the hands and indexes, TAG Heuer and Aston Martin logos at 12 o’clock, chronograph counters and on the 6 o’clock register which houses the Tourbillon regulator dominated by a rose gold plated bridge. These rose gold elements contrast beautifully against the darker brown and black surfaces and allow the piece to become a true luxury sports watch.
Powering the central hands for hours, minutes and chronograph seconds and the minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock and hour chronograph counter at 9 o’clock is the almighty in-house Heuer 02 Tourbillon movement. With COSC chronometer certification, the Swiss made calibre impresses with a 65 hour power reserve, a vertical clutch and column wheel chronograph, 33 jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. As well as being beautifully showcased through skeletonised apertures on the dial, the 02T calibre can also be admired through the case back where the rose gold rotor and column wheel stand out against the black PVD titanium and sapphire crystal construction. The case back is also exclusively engraved with the words “ONE OF 150” and “ASTON MARTIN EDITION” to mark its limited edition status.
To complete the look of the TAG Heuer Carrera Aston Martin 02T Limited Edition, a fine brown calfskin leather strap is included which has been sourced directly from Aston Martin cars. The dark brown leather perfectly compliments the brown plate on the dial while the black PVD coated titanium clasp with push-button pieces made from carbon pair with the case. The strap also features a black rubber lining for additional comfort and a final sporty finish.
