A Week at the Wing – Bremont’s Townhouse 2022 Releases
Tuesday - 26 April 2022
It would make no sense at all for Bremont to showcase its latest 2022 watch releases anywhere other than its own state-of-the-art Manufacturing and Technology Centre, The Wing. Before then, and ever since 2017, Bremont has been unveiling its releases in townhouses across London as a way of cementing its rich heritage in British watchmaking. This year, all its new releases were unveiled over the course of a week, where special guests, retailers and press were invited to ogle at Bremont’s slew of new watch releases. Here, we’re compiling an overview of the latest Bremont watch releases for 2022.
Bremont Supermarine S502 Jet
The Bremont S502 Jet watch is defined as any special op’s best ally and is perfect for blending into the night. What’s more, it has a superior water-resistant capability and an additional GMT function for keeping track of another time zone. Its sleek black palette features a simple three-handed time and date layout, with the date residing at 3 o’clock and the nickel hands treated in a vintage ’51’ lume material. When senses are heightened in the dead of night, the burnt orange GMT hand delivers quick and essential information at a glance, as does the SuperLumiNova-coated applied indexes around the hour track, treated with lashings of blue emission Super-LumiNova. The central section of the dial in this new Bremont S502 Jet watch is raised and has been treated with a tapestry effect upon its surface, donating a three-dimensional effect across the dial. In addition to this, the lollipop second hand stands out against the burnt orange GMT hand and the Bremont lettering is positioned in its usual place of 12 o’clock. The new Bremont Supermarine S502 Jet watch is powered by the Calibre BE-93-2AV and features a 43mm anti-reflective black DLC-coated stainless steel case with a unidirectional black ceramic bezel and a 60-minute luminous dive scale. It also features a helium escape valve and a 500-meter water resistance, securing around the wrist with a black rubber strap.
The Bremont Supermarine Chrono Jet
Also equipped for military missions at night, the black DLC-coated stainless steel Bremont Supermarine Chrono Jet watch measures a 43mm diameter and is modelled on the original Supermarine Chrono DNA. Powered by the same movement, it features a 24-hour track upon its black ceramic bi-directional rotating bezel and offers 200-meter water resistance. It features the same three-piece case construction featured in the new Bremont S502 Jet watch and is crafted from jet-treated stainless steel. Presenting the time on a black dial, the chronograph counters of the new Supermarine Chrono Jet watch are displayed in silver, whilst the GMT hand is executed in a red arrow-tipped hand. Alongside a 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock, a 12-hour totaliser at 6 o’clock and a small second sub-dial at 9 o’clock are the hands of the dial, presented in a gold plating, giving them an almost bronze-coloured hue for enhanced legibility. The essential features on the dial light up at night thanks to blue emission Super-LumiNova.
Bremont Supermarine WR-22 Chronograph
Bremont’s partnership with Williams celebrates the best in British engineering. As of last year, the watchmaker was selected as the Official Timing Partner for the Williams Racing Team and as a tribute to this important role, has released the Bremont Supermarine WR-22 Chronograph. Alongside this, Bremont has also released a special limited-to-45-pieces box set featuring two additional timepieces, clad in the Williams Race Team livery of Oxford blue, electric blue and white. The Bremont Supermarine WR-22 Chronograph is a neat looking chronograph with a partial panda dial. An electric blue hand shows the small seconds at 9 o’clock, whilst the 30-minute counter and 12-hour counter have both been filled in with black in a snailed effect – the latter adorned with deep blue accents and a date window. The tachymeter bezel surrounding the watch’s white dial is finished in black and the watch, which is powered by the BE-53AE movement, comes with a unique selling point altogether - an original wheel nut from a historic Williams F1 racing car.
Alternatively, there are just 45 of the limited-edition Bremont Williams Racing Box Sets to claim. Here, a similar design to the WR-22 watch can be found in the design of the 43mm FW44 Chrono watch. The case, however, is crafted from black ADLC-coated stainless steel but features the same black tachymeter bezel, a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour totaliser. The watch is fitted on a black nubuck leather strap with contrast stitching. Its sibling timepiece – the Bremont FW44 Classic – is a smaller 40mm wristwatch crafted from satin-finished stainless steel and offers a unisex design, fitted on a stylish blue nubuck leather strap. The dial comprises a blue outer minute track, a light baton hour marker section and a deep blue Bremont-stamped centre, pierced by a red second hand, Super-LumiNova-treated main hands, and a date aperture at 6 o’clock.
Bremont Supermarine Descent II
The new Descent II watch from the Supermarine collection has been extensively tested beyond endurance for its water resistance, shock resistance, robustness and accuracy. Forged from a mix of lightweight titanium and corrosion-resistant bronze, it adds a blend of materials and a colour scheme that is completely unique within the Supermarine watch collection. Its titanium case offers a lightweight feel on the wrist and is topped with a bronze bezel that rotates in a unidirectional direction for intuitive timekeeping underwater. The new Bremont Supermarine Descent II watch is also incredibly shock resistant thanks to its ‘Anti-Shock’ movement mount, made possible by the British brand’s pioneering spirit and extensive development in materials and technology. Its black metal dial with striking bronze-plated hands and applied Arabic numerals at 12, 6 and 9 o’clock, interact beautifully with matching baton hour markers. The cathedral shaped hands are crafted from the same materials and, like the hour markers, have been treated with Super-LumiNova, providing a fresh glow during nighttime hours. A 24-hour scale runs around the edge of the dial and is to be used in conjunction with the light blue arrow-tipped GMT hand. The new Bremont Supermarine Descent II watch is powered by the BE-93-2AV Calibre, which provides a 42-hour power reserve whilst protected inside a 500-meter water-resistant case.
Bremont Argonaut Bronze
The Bremont Argonaut Bronze watch is the manufacturer’s latest edition to the Armed Forces Collection. Created in partnership with the Ministry of Defence, it boasts a military derived style that features all three Heraldic badges within its design, much like its other siblings. Its case, crafted from marine metal in CuSn8 bronze, creates a striking look on the wrist and develops a patina of its own over time. Controlled by the crown at 4 o’clock, the internally rotating bezel offers a light audible click when in use. The bronze case is integrated with 300-meter water resistance and comes in two iterations; a black dial and a much more unusual naval “sargasso” blue dial. Corrosion-resistant and able to withstand damage caused by saltwater - the bronze material selected for this Argonaut Bronze watch makes it ideal for its naval uses. Following in the footsteps of the strict performance specifications of the 1940s Dirty Dozen watches with luminous markers, a robust case and chronometer certification – the new Bremont Argonaut Bronze watch features central satin-finished bronze hands and the hour track represented in a mix of Arabic numerals and stick markers. Both models feature a domed sapphire crystal top, are powered by the Calibre BE-92AV, and bear the three Heraldic badges of the MoD on their steel casebacks.
Bremont Airco Macho 1 Jet
The Bremont Townhouse 2022 exhibition also unveiled this new Airco Mach 1 Jet watch - a three-handed time and date watch with a black DLC-coated jet-brushed stainless steel case that brings a contemporary angle to the brand’s much-loved classic pilot’s watch collection. It follows faithfully in the footsteps of the original 2017 Airco Mach watch, with lashings of vintage-inspired charm. The watch is named in tribute to one of the earliest British Military Aircraft manufacturers, ‘The Aircraft Manufacturing Company Limited’ and features a 100-meter water-resistant case, a domed sapphire glass top, and a jet-brushed stainless steel construction underneath a black-coating, crafted from the brand’s patented Trip-Tick case technology. The new Bremont Airco Macho 1 Jet watch features green emission Super-LumiNova-coated Arabic numeral hour markers and nickel-plated syringe-type hands treated with the same luminous material. A red-tipped central second hand and a date window at 3 o’clock complete the classic look of this pilot’s watch perfectly. Inside the case of the new Bremont Airco Mach 1 Jet watch is the modified Calibre BE-92AV, capable of producing a 38-hour power reserve and the watch secures firmly to the wrist with a military-inspired khaki sailcloth band.
Bremont Dambuster Limited Edition
The new Bremont Dambuster Limited Edition watch of just 232 pieces worldwide pays homage to the famous Lancaster Bomber with a specially engraved caseback and a set of complimentary silver cufflinks incorporating original aluminium from the airframe of the Lancaster B.VII NX611 “Just Jane” aircraft. Created in partnership with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), it also raises awareness and money for the RAF Benevolent Fund. The monopusher chronograph measures a 42mm diameter and has been crafted from a two-piece hardened stainless steel case construction. Against this military-infused backdrop is a Dirty Dozen’-inspired black military dial with instantly detectable “aviator” style hands. It features a single push-piece at 2 o’clock for operating the chronograph functions, as well as a screw-down crown at 3 o’clock. Flip the new limited edition Bremont Dambuster watch over and you can admire scenes of the flying Dambuster model Avro Lancaster aircraft engraved upon its steel surface. The new Bremont Dambuster Limited Edition watch is powered by the BE-51AE Calibre and has been fitted on a stylish black sailcloth strap to complete its pilot watch look.
