Oris Air Racing Edition III Watch Review
Thursday - 22 August 2013
The Swiss Air Racing team is the only Swiss team to take part in the Reno Air Races, an annual event held at Reno Stead Airport in Nevada, USA. The Swiss team first took part in 2010, with team pilot Don Vito Wypraechtiger becoming the first Swiss national to ever compete at the races. In 2012 the Swiss Air Racing team was presented with the Team of the Year Award.
The new Air Racing Edition III is the third Oris timepiece to celebrate the brand's role as Official Time Partner.
The watch is described as "a perfect timepiece for VFR pilots and those for whom the minute hand is the most crucial", due to the unique red and white zebra-print minute hand. The clearly visible hand is inspired by the speed limit indicator of a flight instrument, and allows the wearer to quickly focus on the minutes indication, which is crucial during a VFR flight.
The black DLC-coated case is based on the Oris BC3 design and has a diameter of 42 mm. The Oris Air Racing logo and limited edition number is engraved on the case back.
