Casio Watch Opens Concept Store as Premium Sales Increase

Casio has announced plans for further growth after the brand's premium watches have shown a marked increase in popularity. Profits are now expected to double, following the launch of a Casio Concept Store in London and the appointment of a new managing director, Hiraoki Kubo.

Premium brands within the Casio portfolio, including G-Shock Premium, Baby-G Premium, Edifice and Pro-trek have all seen a rise in sales over the last six months. "We have invested heavily in corporate sponsorships and creative advertising campaigns across the Casio brand portfolio and have consequently seen a huge rise in sales for Casio's premium products," head of marketing Tim Gould told Retail Jeweller.
The Casio Concept Store will open in London's Covent Garden on the 21st April, occupying 933 sq ft over two floors. Tim Gould said: "People will get to experience Casio's unique technology and designs, expressed in truly innovative ways throughout the store, making their shopping experience a truly memorable one."

The new store coincides with the launch of a new G-Shock Premium Mr G watch.

As only the second addition of its kind to the Mr G range, the limited edition timepiece will cost £2,500 and only one will be made available to purchase in the UK. The premium watch has a titanium case and strap, anti-reflective sapphire glass and gold circuit mount. Features include world time, 1/20th second stopwatch, daily alarm and water resistance to 200 metres.
