Longines has revealed the Heritage 1973, a new timepiece based on a Longines model from 1973. "The elegance of the 70s has been updated to suit modern tastes," the brand says.
The Longines Heritage 1973 has a cushion-shaped steel case with a diameter of 40 mm. Its shape is directly inspired by the vintage model, and it comes with a black alligator strap.
The dial is available in black or silver coloured, and features contrasting counters at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock. A blue tachometric scale surrounds the dial, and SuperLumiNova has been applied to the applied hour symbols and silvered polished hands for visibility in darkness.
The watch is powered by the L688 calibre, a column-wheel chronograph movement developed exclusively for Longines. The movement of the calibre and the blue column wheel can be viewed through the transparent sapphire glass case back.
