The original design from which this elegant men’s 42.3mm Portugieser watch takes inspiration from was developed from a pocket watch movement that delivered marine chronometer precision. Since then, IWC Schaffhausen has honed in on its refined techniques, creating timepieces that promise exceptional accuracy. The classic silver plated dial of this timepiece is framed by a slim stainless steel bezel and a case integrated with 30 meter water resistance. Blued detailing seen in the Arabic numeral hour track, the small seconds sub dial at 9 o’clock and the power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock interact with a classic black hand-finished Santoni leather strap which completes a sophisticated look.

Inside the watch of this IWC Schaffhausen Portugieser watch is the meticulously developed Calibre 52010, equipped with a 7 day hour power reserve. Its thinned down rotor grants a generous view of the movement in motion, together with exquisite Cotes de Geneve, Perlage decoration to some of the engine’s 257 hand-assembled components. The material used for the transparent caseback feature of this Portugieser Automatic watch is also sealed to the front of the watch for a clear view into the model’s simplified two-handed dial design.
