Jura Watches’ Top Picks from Watches & Wonders 2025

https://www.jurawatches.co.uk/pages/watches-wonders-2025

Who stirred things up this year at the Watches & Wonders 2025 event? Here are all our favourite releases.

TUDOR - Dressier Bracelet Options and METAS-Certified Precision

TUDOR certainly bucked all trends this year by releasing bigger cases with tougher specifications. While many brands have been focussing on downsizing their offerings, the new Black Bay 68 completes the brand’s size spectrum by offering a new size of 43mm, departing from the recent industry trajectory. It’s also a technical achievement since it features a METAS-certified movement that exceeds the standard COSC chronometer parameters.

The Black Bay 58 also gets a new burgundy look, with a dial and bezel boasting deep red tones enhanced by the sunburst effect across the display. TUDOR equips the watch with a three- or five-link bracelet and a T-Fit clasp. There’s also a new opaline dial to enjoy in the Black Bay Pro, with a bright yellow GMT hand for easily tracking a second time zone.

And if you’d been waiting for the Black Bay Chrono to be made available in the five-link bracelet, it’s your lucky day. This upgrade allows the model to be enjoyed in a dressier language. Last but not least, TUDOR has released a new Pelagos with an improved water resistance of 1000 meters. The lightweight titanium case is combined with either a black rubber band or a matching titanium bracelet.

IWC – The APX Ingenieur and Pilot’s Watch Chronographs Inspired By New “F1” Film

This year, the Ingenieur collection by IWC is getting most of the attention, with the brand’s new strategy that sees new materials, sizes and complications. The releases launched at the showcase were accompanied by a special guest - Jerry Bruckheimer, producer of the upcoming “F1” movie starring Brad Pitt, which was shot live at F1 weekends all over the world, including the British Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton joining the team as one of the movie’s co-producers. The new Ingenieur 2025 releases all take inspiration from a prop watch featured in that film, including a particularly striking green dial 40mm steel model adorned with the distinctive grid pattern on its dial. This model has been released alongside another 40mm model crafted from 18ct rose gold with a rich black dial.

New 35mm models of the Ingenieur watch have also been released, with steel versions offered in black or white dials and an 18ct rose gold model with a matching rose gold dial. However, a 42mm ceramic Ingenieur in sandblasted black has to be the stealthiest release this year. Flip the watch over, and a smoked sapphire glass gives way to views of the Calibre 82111. Lastly, two new Pilot’s Watch Chronographs boasting minimal branding in honour of the film’s fictional F1 racing team are offered in 41mm and 43mm sizes, respectively and feature beautiful faux F1 team logos on their smoked sapphire casebacks. At the same time, a third APXGP chronograph is even more discreet and features a classic black tachymetric bezel for measuring speed based on distance.

TAG Heuer - New Solar-Powered Formula 1 Watches and a Teal Twin Time Carrera

Previously, TAG Heuer Carrera Day-Date watches were powered by Sellita movements, offering 38-hour power reserves. But for Watches & Wonders 2025, TAG has released some new Day-Date models powered by movements co-developed with Sellita AMT. The new generation now benefits from the mechanical refinement of the TH31-02 - a variant of the TH31 that TAG Heuer used in the Aquaracer. Now, with an elevated power reserve of 80 hours, the Carrera Day-Date offers top-notch consistency, reliability and accuracy. The new configurations in 41mm cases come in dials of black-grained, black opaline, blue sunray and smoky red – the latter of which is sure to prove to be a firm favourite.

The teal-coloured Twin Time is also new for the Carrera collection and replaces the Day-Date complication with a GMT function. The entrancing blue-green tones are framed by a 24-hour track on the flange, represented in black and white to differentiate daytime hours from the night. A date feature resides at 6 o’clock, while the stainless steel bracelet makes pairing the Twin Time with any attire completely effortless.

TAG Heuer has also released a batch of new Formula 1 watches powered by solar technology, each honouring the original 1980s design albeit with some material advancements since then. The models have been released in the wake of the ultra-popular Kirth collaboration which sold out instantly. These new nine iterations measure 38mm in diameter and are crafted from stainless steel, black DLC-coated steel, or polyamide. They offer a 100-meter water resistance and coloured rubber straps to match their black, white or blue dials.

Panerai – Slimmer More Luminous Marina Luminor Watches and a Smoked GMT Perpetual Calendar

It’s a good year for those who love Panerai’s iconic new-vintage Luminor watches. The distinctive cushion-shaped case collection has grown this year to accommodate Marina models with better water resistance, slimmer cases, better lume, and a new GMT Perpetual Calendar version of the Panera Luminor. The latter is the most complex model in the Luminor collection. It offers regular time, a GMT function, a power reserve indicator, the date, the day, the month and the leap year. To keep the layout looking simple, Panera chooses a blue-tinted sapphire dial that, in some lights, looks see-through, and in other lights, looks opaque. The watch is powered by the Calibre P.4100  with a trusty 3-day power reserve and provides a lightweight feel on the wrist, not to mention 40% better scratch resistance thanks to its 950 platinum case having undergone a scratch-resistant treatment to further toughen up its external layer.

Panerai has also released a handful of slimmer, more ergonomically formed 44mm Luminor Marina watches. One of those designs is crafted from the brand’s Titanio material for a lightweight feel on the wrist. Its stylish green dial combines with the rest of the Marina watch design, including the cushion-shaped profile and the small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock. In addition to that, Panerai has released four new steel models with 12% thinner cases and a staggering 500-meter water resistance. These dial colours include white, dark sunray blue or matte black, or a light blue sunray model on a bracelet.

Bell & Ross – New BR 03 Skeletons and the BR 05 Goes Mini

Two interpretations of the new skeletonised BR 03 model make for an exciting addition to the circle-within-a-square concept this year. The first is a 41mm black ceramic with a smoked sapphire crystal. Through this, a glimpse of the X-shaped movement is afforded, alongside bold luminous indices and a choice of straps – either a black synthetic strap or rubber strap to emphasise stealth. The second is the Lum Ceramic with an open-worked dial with Super-LumiNova C3 to accentuate the edges of the upper level. The 41mm micro-blasted ceramic case shares the same movement as its sibling – the Calibre BR-CAL.328, created exclusively for the collection.

In other news, Bell & Ross has taken the decision to downsize the BR 05 in line with the recent resurgence in smaller-sized watches. The urban watch can now be enjoyed in a 36mm size, complete with refined hands, bold hour markers, and applied indexes filled with a generous proportion of white luminescent SLN for nighttime visibility. Dial options come in mother-of-pearl, grey, black and the popular ice blue, and the watches measure a thickness of 8.10mm, making the ideal options for those who found the 40, 41 and 42mm options too big.

Nomos – A New Complication

One of the biggest and most exciting releases of Watches & Wonders 2025 for lovers of German watchmaking, like me, was the Nomos Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer. The colours are wild, and the designs - funky, arty and fun. The releases mark a whole new complication for the Glashutte brand, boasting colours of “Jungle”, “Canyon”, “Glacier”, “Magma”, “Dune”, and “Volcano”, not to mention two more classic shades in silver-on-blue and a tone-on-tone blue. All of these 40mm models feature home time 24-hour scales at 3 o’clock showing AM and PM hours and a small running seconds scale at 6 o’clock. These new models are limited to 175 pieces each and are powered by an entirely new movement, the Calibre DUW 3202, which features the company’s independently crafted Swing System and a useful 42-hour power reserve.
