Landon Donovan Named As New Seiko Watches Ambassador
Wednesday - 15 February 2012
USA football player Landon Donovan has been named as watchmaker Seiko’s latest brand ambassador.
Seiko said that Donovan is an ideal ambassador for them because he shares the brand’s “dedication to perfection and success”. The football player is most well-known for his last-minute goal in the USA’s 2010 World Cup match against Algeria. The goal, which saved the game for the USA, made Donovan a national hero.
The sports star will help Seiko celebrate its 130th anniversary and will specifically represent the Seiko Sportura watch line.
Donovan commented: “I have always looked for a watch that keeps up with my active lifestyle, which is why I like the comfort, innovation and style of the Seiko Sportura collection.”
He added: “I am honoured to become the first athlete to join the Seiko family as a brand ambassador and anticipate celebrating their dedication to perfection and launch of the new, dynamic timepieces that will once again demonstrate that Seiko is the revolutionary front-runner in the watch-making world.”
