Grand Seiko reaches a breathtaking 55 years in the watchmaking industry continuing to innovate and create exceptional masterpieces throughout. Let’s take a look back at their amazing success story.
The initial concept was to apply the idea of simplicity to a timepiece ensuring that perfect precision, beauty and legibility was met. The journey began back in 1960 when Grand Seiko debuted the very first edition demonstrating the core of the luxury watch brand. Since, each timepiece has followed suit earning the title of one of the best watchmakers worldwide.
To cement an understanding of accuracy, technical advancement and innovation, Grand Seiko house all manufacturing and development. Each component is produced in-house to master exceptional pieces with precision at the centre of all processes. Grand Seiko marks the height of Seiko’s success as a recognised watchmaker interpreting the simple instincts of watchmaking as an artistic expression. A 55 year existence that has witnessed a simple idea that has continued to evolve yet keep the tradition and initial values alive.
The expert craftsmanship and creative input is shared between two studios filled with expert individuals who are solely dedicated to the Grand Seiko legacy. Their exceptional skills were recognised last year when receiving an award at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve for the Grand Seiko Hi-Beat GMT. With great honour and pride do the watchmakers receive such a prize providing inspiration for the future.
