16 Top Brands Attending Watches & Wonders 2023

The most important watch trade show of the year is about to begin in less than one month and whilst some industry giants like Breitling, Seiko and Citizen have exited big trade shows like this, Watches & Wonders is growing rapidly and is expected to host the largest network of watch specialists, sellers, buyers and enthusiasts yet. We already know some of the events and activities set to make the event a success this year. For more details on the programme, you can check out this article here. It includes a break-down of the dates in which the showcase will take over the city with exhibitions, guided visits, boutique animations and a fun watchmaking rally or visitors, as well as an evening of entertainment in the city streets, followed by the Salon weekend open to the public. We also know the entire line-up of the 48 brands expected to exhibit their latest masterpieces at the event. But who are we most excited about? Here’s a list of 16 of the top luxury watch brands attending the Watches & Wonders 2023 event this year.

Alpina Watches

You don’t need to go through Alpina’s archives to discover what the brand is best known for, because it’s always creating new and innovative timepieces built for extreme outdoors. Last year at the Watches & Wonders showcase, Alpina released some incredible models including the Startimer Pilot Heritage Chrono Blackout in a stealthy black PVD-coated case, the water-ready Seastrong Diver 300 Automatic Calanda with a Milanese-style bracelet crafted from black and grey recycled PET, and the Alpiner Extreme Automatic with a unique seaweed green, blue or black textured dial.

Angelus

Known as a pioneer of the Chronodate watch, it came as no surprise that last year the Swiss brand released a new version of this stylish chronograph with a 3D structured dial and a lightweight titanium case. The elegant sporty model has bright flecks of red presented in its crown and push pieces, paid homage to the company’s success in specialising in this collectable sports watch. But what will the brand release this year?

Arnold & Son

If you like your watches to be born and bred in Switzerland, you’re probably just as excited as we are about the Arnold & Son watches due to be released at this year’s Watches & Wonders event. The La Chaux-de-Fonds watchmaker is known for its exquisite dials and its in-house developed calibres. Surprisingly, however, the famed innovator of the Nebula watch has English roots that span right back to the creation of some of the world’s earliest marine chronometers.

Baume & Mercier

Baume & Mercier has a steeped history in manufacturing unusually shaped cases. One of them being the sporty Riviera watch which, last year, got a remake in contemporary grey nuances. In addition to this, the Watches & Wonders event last year revealed more feminine sizes in the range measuring 33 and 36mm diameters, plus a versatile palette of dial colours ranging from a deep red to a silver colour with an unusual dark green flange.

Bell & Ross

Parisian watchmaker, Bell & Ross manufactures its timepieces in La Chaux-de-Fonds and is most recognised for being an official supplier of the Space Lab Mission, The French Air Force, and the Lafayette Escadrille. Above all, the Maison prides itself on developing wristwatches with superior water resistance, legibility and precision – one to keep an eye on this year at Watches & Wonders 2023.

Chronoswiss

Proud of its heritage in creating watches with highly decorated skeletonised movements, Chronoswiss was founded in 1983 and since then has been respected for models like the Regulator Classic - a modern interpretation of its original Regulator watch, and the Open Gear ReSec, which has been released in serval bright and colourful variations since its birth.

Cyrus

Cyrus is still a relatively young brand but in a short space of time, has come a long way. Its creative freedom and uniqueness is afforded by a special partnership with Jean-Francois Mojon, one of the greatest and most inspirational master watchmakers of our time. Some of its most popular collectables are the rectangular-shaped Kambys watch and the sporty and colourful Klepcys watch with a unique cushion-shaped case.

Czapek & Cie

Having closed its order book for the exceptionally popular Antarctique watch collection, Czapek & Cie is hoping to be able to reopen it again in time for Watches & Wonders 2023. This will include Antarctique Passage de Drake and Antarctique S models, which have been truly missed by avid fans since the pause in production. Frederique Constant

From its Highlife timepieces to its Smartwatches and even its more complex Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar instruments, Frederique Constant has given us lots to get excited about recently. Some of the brand’s most versatile timepieces, however, are those like the Classics Index Automatic watches from the Classics range. But what will the brand unveil at the Watches & Wonders showcase this year?

IWC

Masters of the pilot’s watch, IWC Schaffhausen always give us reason to count the days down to the prestigious Watches & Wonders event. Some of its most popular timepieces are the Big Pilot’s watch, the diver-friendly Aquatimer, the elegant Portofino dress watch and, of course, the collectable Portugieser Chronograph. Last year, the Maison unveiled some exceptionally beautiful watches and introduced the woodland colour into its ceramics portfolio, as well as the muted white Lake Tahoe ceramic colour, inspired by the freshwater lake.

Louis Moinet produces its beautiful wristwatches in limited edition form, creating one-of-a-kind timepieces that make for perfect collectables. As one of the most eminent personalities in the watch industry, Louis Moinet watches are crafted in Saint-Blaise, Switzerland from some of the most unusual materials in watchmaking, including tropical fossilised palm wood, dinosaur bone and meteorite stone. Will there be a new material added to its portfolio at this Watches & Wonders 2023 event?

Montblanc

Manufacturers of luxury writing instruments, leather goods, and lifestyle products, not to mention state-of-the-art timepieces - Montblanc continues creating its own story with new editions to its popular lines each year. Some of these include the 1958 Minerva Monopusher from last year, the 1858 Geosphere Chronograph 0 Oxygen, and the simple yet robust 1858 Iced Sea Automatic watch.

Oris

Red rotor brand Oris has been focusing on some serious conservation efforts in previous years. Last year we saw the Oris X Cervo Volante watch with straps made from deer leather and the Aquis NY Harbor Limited Edition, designed in collaboration with “Billion Oyster Project” to raise awareness for a unique cause in the Hudson River. We’ve also seen a recent return to in-house manufactured movements by Oris, which makes the unveiling of the brand’s 2023 pieces even more easgerly anticipated.

Parmigiani Fleurier

The Tonda watch collection has done considerably well over the last year, particularly the new Tonda PF watches like the slim and pared-down Micro Rotor watch. The Tonda PF watches have patterned dials and textured finishes with create a truly unique and refined way to tell the time, all the while keeping their luxury spots watch aesthetics. What we’re wanting to know is whether the Tonda PF line will grow further this year or will the brand venture down a different path from the steel luxe watch and create a new collection altogether?

TAG

With recent releases over the past 18 months such as the Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph and the Carrera Plasma, Diamant D'Avant Garde watch, it is clear to see that TAG Heuer remains at the very forefront of innovative watchmaking. What’s more, its roots are pure Swiss, making it a perfect candidate for the annual Geneva Watches & Wonders showcase. Keep your eyes peeled for some truly disruptive watches from this master horologer this year.

U-boat

Italian watchmaker U-Boat has been crafting eye-catching wristwatches for over 20 years. Its bold and unique designs are all crafted in Tuscany – a land of countryside and old medieval towns that have provided the inspiration to many of its collectable timepieces.
