On July 20th, Space Exploration Day, we will be using a helium filled balloon to catapult the payload into the air, rocketing into the sky at around 300 meters every minute!

This exciting project will see a helium-filled balloon rocket our Seiko Astron timepiece into the sky, travelling upward into some of the harshest conditions known to man.
Flying long past the 19km 'Armstrong Limit', our watch will reach places where increased pressure would cause the body to boil without a space suit if it were passed.
Once at its peak, pressure will be so high that our 1.5 meter wide balloon will have expanded to around 10 meters, where it will eventually burst, and the watch will plummet back to Earth at over 400mph until it enters our atmosphere and wind fills its parachute.
There can be no doubt that this mission will test this watch to its limits.

Of course, the biggest prize of the project will be the watch itself when it eventually returns to Earth aided by a parachute.
