Since its launch, the TAG Heuer Connected has proved that wearables are no longer the domain of brands like Apple and Samsung. Instead, TAG Heuer combines the beauty and elegance of traditional Swiss watch manufacture with ground-breaking Android-run smartwatch technologies for the ultimate luxury smartwatch collection.
In 2015, TAG Heuer made history with the world’s first Swiss made smartwatch following the launch of the inaugural TAG Heuer Connected. Neglecting the plastic exteriors of cheaper, conventional wearables, the TAG Heuer Connected replicated the exterior of their Carrera line electing premium metals like stainless steel, gold and titanium. The smartwatches also built upon the brand’s long-standing heritage in the sporting world offering a range of sports and fitness apps accessible on the sapphire crystal display.
Two years later, in 2017, TAG Heuer then launched its second-generation Connected watch with the release of the TAG Heuer Connected Modular series. At first glance, these new luxury wearables looked much like the first but cleverly hidden within was a modular construction which allowed for a high-degree of customisation. The 45mm cases were paired with interchangeable bezels, lugs and straps allowing you to mix and max, with up to 56 different variations possible. Materials ranged from titanium to rose gold, steel to ceramic with even some elegant bezels dressed in sparkling diamonds. The TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 was also still a high-performance fitness tracker with sports apps, phone notifications, weather and Google’s electronic personal assistance. All of this was run by Android Wear 2.0, the latest processing system at the time.
The third-generation TAG Heuer Connected watch looked even less like a gadget and more like a traditional timepiece when it appeared on the scene in 2020. The design still maintained the sporty Carrera architecture but with additional sensors for more usefulness during fitness and sports tracking. There were also some subtle design elements included on the ceramic bezel, mechanical buttons and higher-resolution screen. The 2020 TAG Heuer Connected also replaced its modular construction with a timeless, non-customisable design. It maintained the OLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 3100 chipset and fitness apps for golf, running, cycling, and more.
In 2022, TAG Heuer launched the fourth generation Connected watch named the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 smartwatch. Electing an even more elegant case, new watch faces, advanced sports app and an improved battery life, this design became TAG Heuer’s best premium wearable yet. Available in 42mm and 45mm, the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 boasts streamline cases in steel or titanium, ergonomic steel pushers, integrated bracelets and domed sapphire crystal glass for a handsome appearance. From within, you’ll find a sports app with preloaded features for indoor running, outdoor running, cycling, swimming, golf and walking as well as a guided workout feature with animations and on-screen prompts. There’s also a wellbeing feature and all the classic apps provided by the latest Wear OS by Google
