New Ball Watch Company Engineer Master II Diver Watch Review

Ball Watch Company has released a new Engineer Master II Diver timepiece in collaboration with freediving world champion Guillaume Néry.

In September 2011 Guillaume Néry was awarded the word championship title in his category at the AIDA Individual Depth Championships in Kalamata, Greece, reaching a depth of 117 metres using a monofin. The French freediver holds a number of constant weight freediving world records, and has been a Ball brand ambassador since 2006, partnered by the shared demand for "precision, rigour, reliability and performance".

Through its longstanding partnership with Néry, Ball has ensured its Engineer Master II collection has met the many requirements of deep-sea diving. Ball believes the watches are "robust, aesthetically functional and deliver remarkable performance".
The latest addition to the range is a new Ball Engineer Master II Diver, a reinterpretation of the collection's essential characteristics. It has an internal rotating bezel with an extremely precise notch system to count down dive time, operated using a screw-in button on the case. The bezel has unidirectional rotation to prevent accidental movement, and micro tubes of luminous 3H gas ensure it is visible at all times. The micro tubes do not need an external source of light of power, and produce light up to 100 times brighter than conventional luminescent paint. It is also used on the dial markers and hands.

The Engineer Master II Diver has a stainless steel case measuring 42 mm and sapphire crystal. Movement is the Swiss automatic ETA calibre 2836-2 with 25 jewels. The watch is water resistant to 300 metres, shock resistant to 5,000 Gs and resistant to magnetic fields up to 4,800 A/m.

The timepiece comes with a stainless steel bracelet or a rubber strap.
