Rado Watch Receives Red Dot Award Honourable Mention

The Rado True Thinline was honoured at the Red Dot Design Awards 2012.
Thirty jury members spent several days evaluating all nominees before selecting the high-tech ceramic Rado True Thinline for the title of Honourable Mention, deciding that the timepiece proves "design is an integral part of innovative product solutions".
The Rado True Thinline is an extra-thin, high-tech ceramic watch that incorporates a 1 mm thin movement. An entirely new manufacturing process was developed in order for the brand to achieve its vision: "Slender, pure lines [that] enclose a masterpiece of technology".
The watch weighs only 35 grams, and the 30 mm ceramic case has a hardness of 1,250 Vickers. Other features include sapphire crystal and Quartz movement.
To celebrate its Red Dot award, the Rado True Thinline will be displayed in the Red Dot museums in Essen, Germany (from 3rd - 29th July 2012) and Singapore (from 1st August 2012 - July 2013).

The Red Dot Design Award was founded in the 1950s and is divided into three disciplines: product design, communication design and design concept. It is one of the world's most prestigious quality seals for outstanding design, and Rado has won several of the awards in previous years: the V10K in 2003; True Active Wrist Watch in 2007; True Chronograph Matt in 2009; r5.5 in 2010; and Ceramica Digital in 2011.
