The U2 SDR is a professional diving watch. One of its most prominent features is the use of German submarine steel, which is resistant to magnetic fields, water penetration and extreme pressure. The timepiece comes with ETA 2893-2 automatic calibre that performs 28 800 vibrations per hour and has 21 bearing jewels. The movement is shock resistant. Sinn's dehumidifying technology is used, as well. Additional functionalities include captive diver's bezel with minute ratcheting, a date window at 3 o'clock, crown at 4 o'clock, second time zone, mission timer design, luminous dial elements and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating.
